Starting from the tranquil atmosphere of Lantern Rite, the interaction between this ice-blue gradient costume and the snow served as the main narrative for this winter snow photoshoot. On the day of the shoot, the snow under the porch remained solid due to low temperatures, which, combined with the arranged white flowers, established a crisp and clear tone for the frame.

The texture of the costume is actually far more complex than it appears to the naked eye. The fabric of this outer robe is a special synthetic fiber with a subtle luster that catches a faint pearlescent gleam under natural light. The patterns on the clothing are very dense, featuring water ripples of varying depths, a traditional fan design occupying the visual centerpiece, and scattered pink cherry blossoms. When putting it on, the tightness of the sash required careful adjustment, as the fabric drapes heavily; if the waistbelt isn't tied properly, folds will bunch up when moving my arms. I specifically wore a multi-layered pearl necklace to soften the bareness around the neckline and create a color echo with the golden tassels on the hair accessories.

The wig was one of the most labor-intensive parts. The top of the light blue long hair was styled into a high twin-tail design while maintaining blunt bangs. The pink rope knots on both cheeks were pre-stitched in fixed positions to prevent tangling or shifting during long shoots in windy outdoor environments. Several flower-shaped hair ornaments on top utilized magnetic structures for easy repositioning at any time. To fit the elegant temperament this character deserves, I strictly controlled the fluffiness when styling the wig, ensuring it wouldn't look top-heavy due to excessive volume.

Regarding poses, the photography team and I communicated at length. The first photo, holding the folding fan high with one hand while lowering my head and eyes, was meant to convey restraint and subtlety. The fan surface itself used a dark base coat, whose golden floral patterns catch the eye under backlighting, effectively avoiding the monotony brought by the light-colored top. The second sitting pose is my personal favorite state; a frontal sitting posture demands high physical coordination, requiring a natural display of the neckline while masking physical stiffness through hand gestures. During the shoot, I deliberately shifted my attention away from the camera to feel the texture of the wooden porch, allowing me to present a polite yet detached hospitality. The third side-lying pose resting on one hand was designed specifically for the environment, bringing the body into physical contact with the snow near the porch edge; the moment my fingers reached toward the snowy surface carried a sense of quietly capturing time.

Post-processing actually didn't involve overly complex treatments. We unified the color grading in a low-saturation cool hue region, darkened the wood's brown tones, and added a blue-purple shift to the shadows, giving the cloud patterns and fan prints on the outfit a more three-dimensional silhouette. Since light-colored wigs tend to blur facial contours under light reflected off the snow, our makeup focused on defining the shadows around the eyes, choosing light blue contact lenses close to the hair color to make my gaze look clearer and more spirited.

As for props, besides this black-and-gold folding fan, we also paired it with a set of tassel accessories. The black material stood out vividly against the blue costume, adding a dark-toned focal point to the overall frame and preventing visual fatigue that might arise from being entirely surrounded by light blue. Although it was winter, the addition of plum blossoms added a sense of ritual for the turn of the year. The entire shoot was both an expression of character temperament and a practice by the photography team in overcoming objective winter cold conditions.

Combining Japanese style elements with the theme of Lantern Rite is actually an externalization of the character's inner thoughts. Lantern Rite is usually bustling and lively, but this time the atmosphere leaned more toward solitude and quiet reflection; perhaps such a quiet character expression reflects a softer side of her personality. To successfully shoot a character in such a non-standard festive scene, one must not only restore the clothing's appearance but also precisely grasp the character's traits emotionally, establishing a connection with the audience through authentic body language. I view this shoot as a visual supplement to the character image, hoping everyone can feel a different kind of warmth from this set of pictures that differs slightly from the usual bright festive atmosphere.
