This outdoor Cosplay photoshoot was set around Lynette from Genshin Impact, with Beijing Chaoyang Park chosen as our location. Saying 'life isn't easy, a magician busking for a living' truly sums up this photoshoot experience. Winter in Beijing is undeniably freezing enough to make anyone shiver—especially near that frozen water surface in the first photo, where the icy wind chilled to the bone—yet to convey the character's visual tension, I did my best to keep my poses open and expressive. I prepared many costume accessories: the red-and-white mini top hat, the oversized yellow smiley-face badge at the waist, lace along the neckline, and a large red bow at the back. Because the skirt has multiple layers and was paired with Black stockings and heavy high-heeled boots, putting it on, taking it off, and moving around were quite inconvenient. The posture in the second photo sitting on the white railing tested my center of gravity the most; to pull off a relaxed yet languid sitting pose, I had to rely entirely on leg muscle engagement to stabilize my balance, and the Black stockings accentuated great lines along the legs. In the third photo, leaning against a pillar with one leg slightly bent was a perspective finalized after repeated discussions with photographer @Lanqiao Shendeng, utilizing side backlighting to carve out the leather textures and subtle patterns on the skirt. Aside from the bitter cold, I had to be careful not to let the wig and headpieces shift while walking. To fit the magician theme, my gaze needed to stay cool-faced while retaining a hint of playfulness. For makeup, I wore large-diameter circle lenses and went heavy on the eye makeup. Although I was freezing throughout the process, the atmospheric mood captured against this classical European-style architectural backdrop was genuinely on point. The photographer's command of lighting was extremely professional, allowing me to showcase the character's traits naturally in front of the lens. Post-processing also gave the overall color grading much more rich texture. From this Beijing cosplay experience, I felt that one must pay extra attention to fine details—like glove positioning, the flare of the skirt hem, and controlled facial expressions—to truly capture the character's demeanor. The coordination with the photographer was seamless, perfectly capturing the desired vibe, and I am exceptionally satisfied with this photo set. The costume felt heavy and truly tested my physical stamina, but seeing the final results made every bit of effort worthwhile.
