I absolutely have to document these three lucky moments from the Ambience Synesthesia convention. First, running into Baihui on the entrance steps. Since I was doing a Yu cosplay, looking up and spotting a Jie cosplay made taking a photo together at the entrance especially meaningful. I had just gotten an autograph that morning, and in the afternoon, the setting sun poured down behind us, creating a wonderfully comfortable contrast of light and shadow. To capture the reflections on the wig and scales, I specifically adjusted my gaze and side profile angle, neatly framing the curve of the Mercedes-Benz Arena in the background so that the subject and scenery blended seamlessly. Second, meeting the Doctor from Xiaohongshu who was looking for a seating buddy inside the venue. They took the time to come all the way around from row 1 just to hand me freebies, even opening up our comments to remind me just in case I forgot—though I remembered clearly. Third was such an amazing coincidence: taking the subway after the event, I bumped into the booth host I had met at ACF that morning. She was wearing a Detective bunny cosplay. I love that outfit so much that I printed my own freebies featuring it, which gave me the courage to overcome my social anxiety and hand one to her earlier. It wasn't until we chatted on QQ later that I realized she was the exact same person from the morning—fate is truly wonderful. A few thoughts on makeup and styling: the color palette of the Yu outfit looks drastically different under indoor booth lighting versus outdoor natural light. The cool white light indoors easily washes things out, so I applied a very translucent base makeup and blended eyeshadow in matching tones, while the warm dusk lighting outdoors made the orange accents on the outfit stand out brilliantly. I also put a lot of effort into the wig this time—the curves at the ends and the little horns on top were reshaped with styling gel. Having cosplayed the bunny outfit myself before, handing her a freebie came from a place of deep resonance. All in all, I not only took great photos but also received so much kindness and shared passion. Nothing could make me happier.
