At the Hangzhou Arknights Only 'Defending Glory' convention on July 20, the venue's air conditioning could hardly contain the players' burning passion. Portraying Angelina this time around brought many details from styling to final frames that I want to share.

The wig was chosen in a waist-length milky white shade with blunt bangs; to ensure natural flow and drape before the lens, I woke up at five in the morning to meticulously comb it out. The plush white beast ears atop my head were the soul accessory, adjusted repeatedly to stand upright naturally without looking artificial. The wardrobe embraced a Tactical Techwear aesthetic: a loose white jacket with black trim and breathable mesh panels across the shoulders, layered over a cropped black athletic tank top, with typographic letter prints along the belt and pant legs elevating textural depth. To execute crisp, clean movements while wielding props, I tested the belt buckles multiple times so they wouldn't snag fabric. The long black staff weapon in hand carried considerable heft; to prevent looking strained on camera, I consciously trained arm strength beforehand.

The studio setup at the booth was fascinating. Photographer Nord set up two red laser beams across the background—the pure black backdrop contrasting starkly with the crimson light beams. Slashing across white hair and jacket fabric, they cast a cyberpunk sci-fi glow that aligned seamlessly with the Arknights worldview. The first shot adopted a slight low angle as I raised a hand to adjust my headgear, keeping the weapon resting horizontally across the torso with a focused, cold gaze. The second shot blurred the black prop into the foreground, adding spatial depth while spotlighting the techwear details. This interplay of red, black, and white tested facial three-dimensionality, requiring a tucked chin and a steadfast, unflinching gaze.

Crowds were dense throughout the convention, where I met numerous Rhodes Island Doctors. To sustain Angelina's composed and subtly aloof aura, I kept my spine straight without slumping. Whenever lifting props or shifting stances, the swaying hemline of the jacket added great kinetic appeal during burst captures. Many friends came over for photo keepsakes, and everyone was exceptionally polite, keeping shoots fast and efficient.

When portraying tactical characters, my experience suggests that upright posture and a piercing gaze matter far more than rigid poses. Extensive white hair and clothing can easily blow out under intense red beams, demanding careful color balance from the photographer and pulling back shadow details in post-production. A convention photo is more than a record—it is a re-creation of the character. After wrapping the final poses, smoothing the wig, and unclipping the intricate buckles, this whirlwind convention day reached a rewarding finish, ready to be capped off with late-night bites.
