[Ganyu Cosplay] Genshin Impact: Casual Cozy Studio Shoot in Blue and White

For this Genshin Impact Ganyu Cosplay, instead of choosing the traditional bodysuit or cheongsam style, I tried a more casual, everyday blue-and-white cosplay outfit for this indoor studio shoot.

First, let's talk about the details of this look. The light blue hair has natural layering and an airy feel for a blue hair cosplay style, complemented by white fluffy beast ears attached to both sides of the top of the head. Accented with light blue double-bow ribbons and several small star hair clips among the strands, paired with violet-pink lenses, it visually maintains a tone that is both cool and sweet. The outfit mainly features a white lace crop camisole top with ruffles and sheer mesh at the neckline and hem, decorated with delicate bows, layered under a matching light blue loose long-sleeved zip-up jacket. For the bottom, it's paired with a white pleated miniskirt and over-the-knee white stockings that gently hug the thighs—the slim fit creates a great contrast with the oversized jacket. A light blue choker with a tiny bell pendant around the neck makes the overall look even more playful and adorable.

The shoot took place in Teacher Chunzi's studio, where the set was arranged to be dreamlike and healing. The floor and prop platforms were covered with white plush mats and fabrics, giving a soft and cozy wrapped feeling. On the left, a woven rattan basket held purple irises and blue artificial flowers; on the right hung a translucent beaded crystal curtain. Cards with heart suits and mini dessert models were scattered across the table in front. White sheer curtains draped in the back, forming a bright and translucent high-key background.

The photography was handled by Teacher AOZI for this anime-style photography session. This style requires intense soft lighting, which really tests the control of light ratios. The photographer used plenty of side-backlighting combined with front fill light, making the highlights on the wig look very natural and giving the lace camisole and white pleated skirt a light fabric texture under the light. The shoot also fully considered combining portrait close-ups with set props, capturing both emotional close-ups and full-body compositions that showcase the overall outfit and body proportions.

Most poses for this shoot were seated or side-seated. The focus of several pose sets was on how to use small props to add narrative to the frame—such as holding a small red cherry out toward the camera or holding it lightly between fingertips, using the pop of red to break up the monotony of the dominant blue-and-white palette. Other poses included resting a cheek on one hand or letting the jacket slip halfway down to the elbows, creating a very relaxed and lazy vibe. Wrapped in such bright and soft light, the images convey a clean, delicate charm.

The texture of the costume and props played a huge role in this shoot. The translucency of the over-the-knee white stockings under natural light was great. Paired with lace elements, there was no need to deliberately strike complex poses to naturally showcase body curves. During breaks, I flipped through a few preview shots and realized that photos like these—which rely on meticulous scene setting and lighting rather than heavy post-processing—have a timeless quality. Once the blue and white tones are unified by light and shadow, the whole image feels like a quiet afternoon spent listening to soft music by a sunlit window sill.

It was a very enjoyable shoot, and team collaboration was super efficient. The costume preparation and set coordination made the whole process go smoothly. Preserving the authenticity of this style is a visual feel I always strive to convey as a cosplayer. I hope to have more opportunities to try different Genshin Impact character styles in the future.
