The visual center of today's styling lies in the combination of black-and-gold embroidery on a white base, paired with a vibrant red-and-blue color collision. During the fitting, seeing the silhouette and cut of this garment made it immediately clear that a commanding, authoritative posture was needed to carry its regal aura. The white fabric boasts a gorgeous drape, while the black section on the chest uses a velvet base trimmed with wing-shaped embroidery in fine gold thread. To contour the silhouette, tailoring the waist cinching was paramount. The blue and red ribbons at the shoulders were structured rather than limp, allowing them to sway with natural rhythm during movement. For the wig, I selected a pale blonde tone styled into a high updo at the crown, with long sidelocks framing the face. Golden slender hairpins were placed near the ears to add delicate sophistication. The most time-consuming part of makeup was the eye look: reddish-pink blending can easily look puffy if mismanaged, so the lower lash line was deepened with darker tones, paired with winged eyeliner extending outward and a delicate cross-shaped forehead flower marking to heighten facial sharpness. The red lips were richly pigmented, using a velvet matte lipstick. The red leather gloves and pearl bracelets on my hands provided another subtle detail—the lustrous warmth of pearls contrasted against the firmness of leather, while gold cord knots around the wrists lent an ornate touch.
The miniature mountain prop was one of the tricky aspects of this shoot. It had noticeable heft, with layered metallic textures and a gradient teal-green finish; holding it required steady strength without sacrificing graceful posture. In the first full-body shot, I sat atop an elevated platform with crossed legs—an angle that effectively elongated leg proportions, with black high heels and red flowing ribbons creating a visual extension. To dodge tangled studio cables on the floor, I adjusted my seating on the platform repeatedly, keeping my fingers firmly gripped around the base of the prop. Subsequent half-body shots focused heavily on emotional nuance. Leaning beside the railing allowed for more organic hand gestures—lifting an arm to toy with hair strands or brushing against the silk scarf showcased the intricate cuff and neckline designs. In the background, luminous LED light strips cultivated a subtle cyber-tinged fantasy style ambiance. Given spatial limitations, we had to maximize limited lighting to highlight the subject, making facial illumination critically important—cool white light lent a sharper, aloof edge to the visuals.
From hair and makeup to garment styling, this entire look was a brand-new endeavor; special thanks to Ziluoyao for directing and guiding the shoot on set. While this look features abundant elements, a disciplined color palette prevents it from appearing cluttered. White, black, and gold serve as dominant colors, balanced by accents of red and blue in just the right proportions. A full day of shooting was physically draining, yet seeing the luminous interplay of light and shadow alongside the pleated folds of the skirt made every preliminary trial worthwhile. From selecting accessories to setting the final makeup, every phase underwent repeated adjustments. The forehead marking in particular looked off if shifted by even a hair. All in all, this foray into the Onee-san / Mature woman style was a resounding success, giving me deeper photoshoot insights into ancient fantasy style creations.
