For this application for independent travel to the Wenzhou Expo Park 2D Anime Carnival, I chose the look of Ruan Mei. Preparing this costume and wig took quite a bit of time, focusing on getting the drape of the main white skirt and the detailed chest decorations just right. Paired with several photos from both outdoor and studio shoots, I hope to fully present the character's unique demeanor.

The first photo was taken outdoors at night. You could just see the starry sky overhead, and the strong wind blew up my long, straight pink hair and skirt hem; this naturally flowing state felt much more vivid than a posed shot. The hair accessories, combining white foliage and wing motifs, looked exquisite under the lighting. To match the starry backdrop, the color tones were adjusted in post-processing to highlight the layered depth of the light purple and dark blue paneled skirt hem.

The second photo features an indoor scene. The black umbrella with a red handle in my hand pairs a solid black base with a curved red grip, perfectly matching the black, white, and red outfit color scheme. Wearing black fingerless gloves combined with dark bow hair ornaments, I focused on the umbrella-holding gesture and facial gaze, aiming to create a quieter, more mysterious mood. The warm-toned side-backlighting sculpts the silhouette beautifully, adding three-dimensional texture to the fabric and lace edges.

The third photo has a behind-the-scenes flavor. Taken during a break on set, I'm holding a camera beside a massive professional softbox. Having recently grown fond of studying how different lighting gear restores skin tone and clothing texture, I deliberately kept this record of my working state. Wearing a loose white, blue, and purple color-blocked shirt jacket paired with a camera-shaped blue block ornament at the waist, my camera-holding posture looks natural—capturing a genuinely relaxed resting state between shoots.

This application is for independent travel to the 2D Anime Carnival at Wenzhou Expo Park from August 15 to 16, 2026. Checking in advance, the indoor space at the China Pavilion in the North Park of Wenzhou Expo Park is huge, with full air conditioning, making it an exceptionally comfortable setting for an anime convention. As a cross-dimensional creator, I'm always looking forward to offline events like this. Bringing different cosplayers and photographers together to share wig styling, prop making, or photo editing tips creates the absolute best atmosphere.

The venue is vast—spanning 230 hectares and encompassing over thirty city exhibition gardens—offering ample space for photoshoots. Beyond the main stage and esports gaming area, there are itasha zones and many dedicated Only event areas. Preparing for this event took a long time—from choosing the character, ordering the costume, testing makeup, to the actual photoshoot. Now that I've posted the photos and recruitment thread, the whole process has finally come to a close. The starlit sky, red umbrella, black gloves, and shining props in the photos all hold my longing for this offline meetup. Looking forward to enjoying the 2D atmosphere with everyone at Wenzhou Expo Park in mid-August and capturing even more wonderful photos on site!
