[Daiyan Cosplay] Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium - Yu Linglong, Firefly ACG Expo Photoshoot Record

The photo turnaround efficiency for this Daiyan Yu Linglong shoot at the Firefly ACG Expo was very high overall. The convention venue was crowded and chaotic, so maintaining a clean visual style throughout the photo set relied heavily on the on-site lighting adjustments and angle selection.

For this white outfit, some minor detailed adjustments were made while recreating Daiyan's Yu Linglong illustration from the game. The white off-the-shoulder top is paired with wide flowing sleeves and a blue bow. I tried my best to maintain the original drape in the choice of fabric, but considering the need to frequently squat, sit, and adjust my posture at the convention venue, I added some hidden snaps inside to secure the waistline, preventing the oversized sleeves from hindering my movements. The blue and white ribbons and headwear are the visual core of the overall styling. To complement the long black hair, I chose a highly saturated royal blue, which creates an excellent color contrast in the cool-toned environment of the expo.

For the makeup, I preserved Daiyan's iconic cool and detached demeanor. The base makeup is clean, fair, and radiant, combined with reddish-brown eyeshadow and a light red blending around the eyes. Paired with reddish-brown colored contact lenses, it gives the gaze both an anime-like exquisite look and a naturally vivid expression. The straight black hair with straight bangs, coupled with the blue flower hair ornaments, can be considered a recreation of the most classic features of this entire look.

In terms of props, the round fan and that black bullpup assault rifle formed a very clever visual contrast. The former represents the gentle and elegant side of this look, while the latter represents the hardcore attributes of tactical armaments. During the actual shoot, I experimented with many different ways of holding the props. Especially in the set of photos for Photo 4, where I sat on a silver rolling suitcase, holding the round fan in front of my chest with the assault rifle resting against the side of the suitcase perfectly maximized this sense of combining softness with strength.

The shooting session was mainly divided into several modules. The photographer chose a large aperture to blur the background, which is extremely practical for a convention setting filled with passersby, beautifully separating the character from the chaotic surroundings. Limited by the on-site lighting, we constantly kept an eye out for reflections from the overhead downlights during the shoot, but fortunately, the texture of the light spots in the final photos turned out excellent.

To be honest, shooting all day in a hot, crowded venue like the Firefly ACG Expo while wearing this white dress and thick-soled high heels was indeed quite physically draining. However, to present poses from various angles in the frame, whether kneeling on one knee holding the rifle or sitting properly on the rolling suitcase, I tried my best to keep my body movements natural and extended. For a character with tactical elements, controlling the focus of the gaze in photos is quite important—it can't be too expressionless, nor can it be too sweet; it needs to form a proud and confident interaction with the props.

The final color tone of this photo set leans cool, perfectly matching the white dress, black hair, and blue ribbons. The overall contrast presented in the photos can actually be considered an interpretation of the original character's temperament.
