This summer swimsuit cosplay photo set was completed as a studio shoot at Sanmiao Student Photography Studio, where the overall set design was meticulously crafted. Sand, thatched sun parasols, a surfboard, and a red-white-and-blue striped lifebuoy hanging on the wall, paired with a light blue wooden background wall, created an intense summer poolside atmosphere.
For my hairstyle, I chose long black hair styled into two small hair buns, accented with yellow and white hair ties to highlight the character's lively and nimble nature. Costume-wise, I wore a light blue and white color-blocked sun protection jacket over a basic white swimsuit for a crisp visual effect. I also put a lot of work into the details: blue goggles around my neck, a work permit on a lanyard with an adorable rubber ducky charm, and a unique teal thigh ring. Combining these elements effectively highlighted the setting of a summer water lifeguard or pool staff member.
The variety of props was a standout feature of this shoot. Communicating with the photographer, we wanted to convey a lively, refreshing, and slightly playful feeling. I prepared multiple prop sets for different poses—for instance, the blue-and-yellow volleyball, which created a relaxed, casual mood when hugged or placed on the lounge chair; and the black-and-white megaphone, which served as our key prop to simulate a lifeguard's commanding presence, expressing the character's confidence and energy when saluting or held beside the face.
During shooting, we also tried dynamic poses to add motion, such as standing on one leg holding a light green swim ring, or holding a large swim ring with both hands in front of my body. These movements made the shots look more vivid without feeling stiff. Though the studio lights were quite bright and caused quite a bit of sweating, maintaining a natural, refreshing expression was essential. The sand on the floor echoed the blue-and-white tile edges, enhancing the realism of the scene as if really standing on the pool deck.
My favorite moment from this shoot was saluting while holding the megaphone. Raising the megaphone required maintaining balance while managing expression and body posture—a fun little test of core strength. The final image captured the character's capability and cuteness just right. Studio lighting was wonderfully clear in this anime-style photography session, highlighting skin textures under bright, fresh tones. Abundant props—including sun umbrellas, faux cacti, colorful lifebuoys, ice buckets, and beach balls—complemented rather than overwhelmed the subject. This summer cosplay shoot matched the season perfectly in both setting and attire, making it a thoroughly enjoyable experience to recreate the character with such rich detail.
