Shooting a summer-exclusive theme is truly a test of physical stamina, especially since this shoot took place outdoors by a swimming pool. I knew it would be scorching before heading out, but I was still eagerly looking forward to the shimmering texture of sunlight reflecting off the pool water and tiles.

This Swimsuit Cinderella look focuses on feeling fresh and breezy. A basic white bikini paired with a long-sleeved mesh cover-up visually cools things down. Knotting the cover-up at the front keeps the outfit layered without feeling bulky. Two small white flowers accent the twintails, perfectly complementing the grayish-purple wig for an exceptionally clean and transparent color palette. The red contact lenses serve as a striking highlight against the light-toned styling, making the gaze soft yet captivating.

Before the shoot, I specially picked a transparent glitter swim ring as a prop. Not only did it fit the pool theme, but the fine shimmer refracted under bright sunlight enriched the visuals, preventing highlights from looking flat. To capture the character's languid charm during a summer break, I experimented with several poses. The first was a side sitting pose with my hand resting gently on the hem—leaning towards a quiet, gentle vibe. The second incorporated playful interaction with the swim ring in a half-kneeling pose to lower the center of gravity. The last pose is a personal favorite: sitting at the pool's edge, stretching one arm naturally upward while extending both legs toward the water. This elongated the body lines, creating a wonderfully relaxed and balanced composition where the cool tones of the water ripples and tiles beautifully accentuated the white swimwear.

My biggest takeaway from this Poolside photography session was that beyond replicating the character's physical appearance, capturing the right vibe and state of being is even more crucial. Water, light, swimwear, and breeze-tousled hair all blended together harmoniously. Even though it was sweltering and a bit dizzying between shots, seeing the previews made all the effort feel worthwhile thanks to the stunning colors and lighting. Moreover, the outdoor pool tiles combined with water reflections served as a magnificent natural backdrop, meaning post-processing required minimal retouching. I preserved the authentic skin texture and ambient tones, performing only basic color grading and skin-evening adjustments. Daytime natural light was truly the best way to showcase the sheer quality of this outfit; sunlight filtering through the fabric brought out the translucent mesh texture and gave dimension to the bikini silhouette.

Choosing this outfit was also an extended interpretation of the character's summer state—breaking free from the originally heavy setting, the refreshing waterside vibe revealed an entirely different dimension to her. Stepping into the shoot with this relaxed mindset made the resulting shots feel more effortless rather than staged. Overall, it was a delightful experience. Of course, when shooting outdoors by the water, sun and mosquito protection are essential. A quick tip for cosplayers planning to try a similar look: breathable, lightweight clothing really helps keep your energy up and allows you to stay vibrant and natural before the camera.
