The theme of this shoot was very clear: a Blue-themed cosplay palette. From Amiya's blue-and-black coat and plaid skirt, to Rosmontis's white-and-blue color scheme, and further to Asuma Toki's sci-fi tech blue and Ushio Noa's fresh blue-and-white from Blue Archive, the entire palette is unified yet distinctly layered. In fact, when preparing the costumes and props, I intentionally selected blues with various saturations and brightness levels, hoping to present a clean and translucent visual experience in the frame.
The outdoor lighting was amazing, especially for the shot of Amiya cosplay—the blue of the sky and the blue of the outfit blended perfectly. Coupled with the wind blowing through the rabbit ears and hair strands, the dynamic feel turned out quite natural. However, I have to point out that Rosmontis's outfit actually has quite few blue elements, being predominantly white. Looking at the raw shots after the shoot, I always felt the blue wasn't "blue" enough. I adjusted the hue slightly in post-processing, but to maintain the overall texture, I still preserved its original faintness, giving it a different kind of flavor.
This time, I also brought a laptop prop to match Ushio Noa's workplace elite vibe, and alongside Asuma Toki's tactical maid outfit, we experimented with several different standing and sitting poses. The photographer's snapshots were highly on point, especially the details of holding the gun and resting the chin on the hand, beautifully restoring the characters' personality traits. As a cosplayer who loves anime culture, every outdoor shoot feels like a mini character experience. The cut of the costume, the styling of the wig, and the weight of the props all directly impact the final photo results. Blue is a genuinely timeless color, cool yet carrying a touch of gentleness. I hope this set of photos allows everyone to feel the unique tranquility and strength belonging to these characters through this piece of Cosplay photography.
