[Zani cosplay] Wuthering Waves Zani, Attending a Retro Gothic Dinner Party

This time, the shooting location was chosen indoors with a retro gothic style, featuring red velvet curtains paired with black-and-white checkerboard flooring, along with an intricate long dining table and candelabras, which perfectly matched Zani's white shirt and black suspenders look. To recreate the character, black leather gloves, a red tie, and iconic black horns were prepared, and the metallic buckles and chest accessories in the details were chosen to have textures as close as possible. In terms of hair, to present that sharp yet layered white hair, the wig was specially trimmed and thinned, and the red highlights on the edges become more prominent under specific lighting. The eye makeup heavily emphasized red eyeshadow blending and the tear mole beneath the eye, paired with matching red contact lenses, instantly bringing out the overall visual impact. This cool yet somewhat aggressive makeup style is extremely popular in two-dimensional photography.

During the shoot, the atmosphere of light and shadow was crucial. A large amount of backlight was used in this photo set to pierce through the wig, giving the edges of the hair a natural highlight contour that made it look more translucent. Facial lighting for the character used a softbox, preserving the three-dimensional contour of the facial structure while avoiding stiffness, making skin tones look more even. In terms of expression management, Zani gives off a vibe of being somewhat aloof, lazy, and carrying a hint of danger, so most of the time the gaze looks straight into the lens or slightly downward, coordinating with actions like propping the chin, raising a glass, or holding a rose to adjust the line of sight. When wearing the white shirt and suspenders, the restrictive feeling of the belt combined with the black leather gloves really brings out the character's aura. Leaning against a dark leather sofa or standing casually by the long dining table—as long as the shoulders are relaxed and the chin is slightly tucked, that cool atmosphere comes right out. For tight-fitting or restrictive clothing, adjusting breathing rhythm is also very important, as it helps the posture look more natural without stiffness.

During post-processing and retouching, the overall color tone was darkened slightly, emphasizing the strongly contrasting color relationships of red, black, white, and gold. A slight soft-focus effect was added to the frame, making the overall feel lean more toward the texture of a cinematic screenshot. Using a wine glass and a red rose as foreground props also adds layering to the frame, preventing it from looking too empty. The scrap rate for this photo shoot was actually not high, because the scene was rich enough, and once the lighting was set, just snapping a few random shots yielded great textures. This time it wasn't just a stacking of costumes and props, but an attempt at capturing the character's casual yet condescending demeanor. Maintaining this retro gorgeousness, the effect of the feature photos basically met expectations, and I hope everyone likes this set of Zani from different perspectives.
