This time wearing this Honor of Kings Daji costume, most of my energy went into the overall styling coordination and on-site shooting adjustments. The design of this costume is very unique, adopting a large-area color-blocking combination of orange-red and gold. The top is a single-shoulder style with very wide, rigid golden fabric along the edges. To ensure that these edges would stand up straight during the shoot rather than looking limp, I added support material to the inner layer and paid special attention to keeping it neat and smooth when wearing it. The huge golden bow on the waist binder is the visual center of the entire outfit; the two purplish-red big flowers and long tassels decorated on it sway as you walk, adding a strong sense of layering. The wig is chosen as short golden hair, which needs to be styled with clean layers without looking too heavy. To keep the white fox ears firmly upright on top of the head, I tried several angles of the fixing clips. The head ornaments include a red folding fan, silk flowers, and golden hairpins, which reflect light with the slightest movement, so direct light needs to be avoided during lighting to prevent overexposure. In terms of makeup, to fit the fox spirit setting, I chose reddish-brown contact lenses, deepened the contour with eye makeup, elongated and upturned the outer corners of the eyes, and used a retro-toned red for the lipstick. Red vine pattern stickers were applied to the collarbone and chest to add a touch of enchanting vibe and detail. The prop is a slender pipe; the feeling of holding it in the hand needs to be handled well so it doesn't look too stiff. The shooting location was inside the convention venue, where the background actually consisted of quite cluttered crowds and booths. The photographer brought a flash and highlighted the subject by dimming the background, so the frame wouldn't look messy. In the full-body photo, I sat on a black folding chair with my legs crossed, which can lengthen the visual lines of the legs, and the hem of the clothes just covered the shorts, creating the effect of a short skirt. The shoes were paired with a pair of black platform slippers with red bows; although walking all day was tiring, I am personally very satisfied with the overall photo output effect. During the process, I also constantly adjusted the wrinkles and draping feel of the clothes because this metallic-gloss fabric is very sensitive to light. Overall, both the heavy feel and gorgeousness of this styling needed to be digested through poses during the shoot, making it a very fulfilling cosplay photography experience.
