The design details of this Venus Goddess cosplay costume are truly abundant. From the golden crown to the black-and-white twin-tail hairstyle, every single part tests the restoration accuracy of the props and styling. The crown decoration on top uses a three-dimensional cutting technique, and the sharp edges reflect a metallic luster under the studio lighting, paired with the black gemstone embedded in the middle, making it look very imposing. The wig was chosen from high-temperature synthetic fiber; I trimmed the bangs myself and used hairspray to shape the arc of the hair ends, so as to present the naturally fluffy yet firm twin-tail effect shown in the picture.
For the clothing part, the upper body is a white bodysuit spliced with golden edges, adorned with dark decorations on the chest and a red-and-gold circular emblem at the waist. To make the color contrast clearer, I added stiff shaping strips to the edges of the inner lining to ensure the costume doesn't easily deform during large movements. For the lower body, due to the high-slit design requirement of the setting, along with a long cascading white cape, moving around indoors is actually quite restricted, so during shooting, I was basically sitting or making minor posture adjustments. The dark blue leg cover on the left leg is made of leather; to secure the golden armor and sapphire on top, I used straps and concealed clasps for double fixation to prevent slipping.
The shooting process was actually quite a test of physical strength. To showcase the majesty and tension of the Venus Goddess, the photographer had me try a pose with both arms bent and raised, and my right leg stepping on a white block. This posture requires core strength support while maintaining a sharp gaze. Since the background is a pure white seamless wall and the lighting is very even, the requirements for the texture of the costume material are very high; the color saturation of the golden accessories and the dark blue leg covers must be pure enough to pop out against the white screen. Red eyes combined with slightly upturned eyeliner brought the expression to a rather stern state.
When creating this styling, I focused on analyzing the character's aura in Fate FGO, and how to express the oppressive feeling of a mythological character in static photos was a difficulty. Looking at the final photos, the pure white background instead highlighted the color collision between the character and the costume itself. The overall makeup follows a clean and crisp route without too much complex eyeshadow, mainly using contouring and highlighters to enhance the facial dimension. Combined with the weight of the props and the complex wearing method, although the process was quite tiring, seeing the effect presented in the final lens made all the detail adjustments worthwhile. Characters with mythological elements actually require more attention to the layering of accessories and the silhouette of the costume than everyday characters.
