The convention hall shots from the Zhanjiang Yunxige Comic Con are finally ready! From preparation to wearing it on site, this Lumine outfit was packed with meticulous details. The primary palette embraces classic white and blue; to recreate the in-game texture, the fabric was specifically chosen with a delicate, subtle shimmer. The most challenging elements were the metallic fittings and waist belts: to ensure they stayed securely in place during dynamic, sweeping movements, we spent extensive time making repeated adjustments during dressing. The boot design is also quite unique—golden armor plates at the ankles paired with subtly upturned toes immediately brought out an imposing presence once worn. The cut of the dress hem demanded equal care: it needed to flow effortlessly while walking without tripping me up during dynamic poses, which certainly took plenty of deliberate thought.
The greatest challenge of these hall shots was the execution of the poses. To capture that dynamic, floating-in-midair effect, I utilized the elevation of the stage platform and leaned my entire upper body backward. That posture heavily tested core and leg strength: bending the right knee while stretching the left leg backward, firmly gripping the sword with the right hand while spreading the left hand open naturally. To keep the shot looking effortless on camera, muscles throughout the body had to be tightly engaged while maintaining a relaxed expression. The photographer, Huanghun, demonstrated incredible skill with camera angles, using an ultra-wide low angle to capture the vast, dark steel-truss dome of the convention center. That immense spatial scale combined with ambient lighting created a dramatic ambiance reminiscent of preparing to unleash an Elemental Burst in the game.
In terms of props, the massive trailing ribbons truly worked wonders. To achieve a windswept flutter in still photography, we embedded invisible supports within the streamers; paired with subtle post-production touches, they formed a spiral wrap with striking visual tension. The platform set was also carefully decorated—covered with artificial grass, antique pierced-gold lanterns, blue-and-white roses, and scattered parchment scrolls. When the lights hit the lantern, its warm amber glow contrasted boldly with the overall cool-toned palette, intensifying that sense of curious wonder when exploring an uncharted realm. The sword hilt was recreated down to the finest detail as well, offering just the right balanced weight in hand.
With every cosplay, the greatest joy is bringing a beloved character to life in the real world. To capture her expressions and gaze accurately, I practiced in the mirror for hours to master that look of resolute determination touched with gentle warmth. Although the convention was tiring and the hall grew stuffy, the moment I saw the final photos, every drop of sweat felt completely rewarded. I am genuinely thrilled with these hall shots, especially how the light filtered through the swirling streamers onto the floor, creating rich, dimensional layers of light and shadow. This set stands as my personal favorite for this costume to date—both the costume details and the overarching mood achieved everything I had envisioned.
