This Qipao-style look created for Akimitsu cosplay from Azur Lane had its details repeatedly scrutinized during the preparation stage. The blue-and-gold hidden patterns on the dress and the layering of feather decorations needed to preserve the agile feel of the original game setting while integrating the luster required for real-life photography, so we made many attempts in fabric selection. The patchwork of cyan-blue gradient feathers and black lace at the shoulders and arms makes the overall sense of layering richer.

During the shoot, we specially chose a Chinese vintage-style real-scene studio. In addition to the standard paper umbrella, withered wood, and bamboo branches, I also brought this warm yellow-glowing everlasting lamp, allowing the cool-toned makeup and costume to form a color contrast under the warm light. When I sat on the wooden chair, holding a folding fan to slightly cover my jawline, or using the leg chain to elongate the visual lines, I could feel that this kind of narrative posture is exactly what externalizes the character's cool, detached temperament.

幕The composition of this Anime-style photography session actually took a lot of thought; for instance, leaning over the desk while sitting sideways in the third photo, and the sitting posture in front of the screen in the fifth photo, were both intended to use the furniture's framework to strengthen the visual focus. The feather decorations have a certain flowing feel during movement, so capturing candid shots required a very high shutter speed. Fortunately, the photographer caught the timing of my gaze perfectly. As a cosplayer, when facing a Chinese-style ancient setting like this, balancing softness with sharp neatness is key. We repeatedly adjusted the makeup a few times, finally choosing a low-saturation lip color combined with a light-colored wig to complement the blue-and-black-toned clothing. Looking back at this set of photos, those awkward moments of hiding around in the set because there were too many feathers have also turned into fun memories. After all, every time a cosplay photoshoot is released, it is a process of re-establishing a connection with the character.
