[Okita Souji cosplay] Fate/Grand Order: Dashing Patrol Time Under Spring Cherry Blossoms

Taking advantage of the perfect weather and gentle breeze, I finally arranged the long-planned spring outdoor shoot. With the full gear on this time, I felt my entire aura become dashing. The fabric texture of the top is very lightweight, allowing free movement, and once the red-and-black interwoven waistband was tightened, the visual effect of my figure became exceptionally neat. The wig was specially trimmed to be fluffy and natural, paired with a black bowknot hair accessory. Under the backlighting, the edges of the hair strands revealed a soft luster, perfectly matching the cool yet earnest atmosphere of this character.
The shooting location was selected in a cherry blossom forest in full bloom, where the grassy slope on the ground had natural undulations, providing excellent layers for framing. The photographer is highly skilled at capturing these dynamic images; I basically didn't need to deliberately strike any rigid poses. I just needed to walk under the flower branches, look up at the blossoms, or casually glance back to capture beautiful moments. Especially when walking on the grassy slope, the deep red skirt hem lifted gently with the wind, paired with the background of falling cherry blossoms, which offered ample dynamic beauty while showcasing the character's neatness.
For props, the red-and-black colored sword was one of the highlights of this look. During the shooting process, I didn't just treat it as a simple ornament, but tried to feel its weight as part of the "patrol." Whether it was the static state of gently gripping the hilt or the exact moment of making a sword-drawing stance, I imagined myself truly patrolling among the flowers in my heart. Especially in the few shots of drawing the sword and looking back, though the blade was hidden in the sheath, the tension of the entire body and arm movements beautifully conveyed that dashing readiness to respond at any second.
Regarding post-processing color grading, we tried our best to retain the highlights cast by the sunlight, giving the cherry blossoms a soft, translucent texture like cream, and retouched the skin tone to be clean and natural, making the overall image look very comfortable. I've always felt that good cosplay is not just about putting clothes on, but also about having a certain understanding of the character's aura and atmosphere. For this "patrol mission" under the cherry blossom trees, I wanted to showcase the character's calm, composed, yet agile and sharp traits.
Since the weather during the sakura season is unpredictable, our luck was genuinely good on the day of the shoot with plenty of sunshine. However, under harsh light, some shooting angles can easily result in overexposure or flat white patches; at times like this, I have to thank the photographer's on-site control. When shooting backlit, the glowing hair effect made me look dreamy and lightweight, while side light beautifully outlined my facial features. I also coordinated with the lens to make some adjustments in movement, such as reaching out to gently touch the flower branches overhead or looking up into the depths of the tree shadows, trying my best to make the frame look natural and not rigid.
The combination of a red-and-white palette and pink cherry blossoms is inherently a very classic spring tone. I really love the contrast effect of letting the character pop out from the full-screen pink flower ocean while maintaining a sharp, vivid visual presence. After the shoot, looking at each frozen frame in the lens, I felt a true sense of happiness from immersively enjoying the interweaving of a 2D anime character and real-life beautiful scenery in spring. I hope this set of Sakura Photograph photos allows everyone to feel that unique breath of spring, and also experience the immersive joy brought by Japanese style cosplay through this Anime-style photography session. After all, being able to leave a set of such vivid and natural photos during the flower season is inherently a very meaningful thing.
