This time I chose Anchorage's cheongsam look from Azur Lane, and restoring the details of the entire outfit for this Cheongsam cosplay was actually quite challenging. The combination of black lace and dark red embroidery shows great texture, and the hollow-out design at the neckline as well as the slit height of the skirt hem required repeated adjustments to match the proportions of the original illustration. I specially paired it with braided twin-tails and matching hair ornaments to bring the overall look closer to the character's agile nature. During the shoot, we happened to use a classical Chinese scene; the screen in the background and the thread-bound books nearby added great points, and the folding fan was also a finishing-touch prop, enhancing the atmospheric feel of the photos. For the lighting, we used side-backlight, which could both outline the costume's silhouette and highlight the different textures of the lace and satin. The pairing of black stockings and high heels made the leg lines look more slender, and with the details of the straps, the overall look added a hint of playfulness to its elegance. Actually, when shooting such a theme, the hardest part is keeping the character's temperament while making the movements natural and not stiff. Fortunately, the final results of this Cosplay photography session are highly satisfying. As a coser, every time I try a different style of dress-up is a new experience, and this set of Anchorage cosplay is definitely worth a proper shoot for this Anime cosplay project.
