This photoshoot was set in an indoor underground garage, primarily to complement this light blue Nikke Itasha. The entire styling took direct inspiration from the vehicle's livery; to echo the 2D decals on the car, numerous detailed adjustments were made to both costume and props. The outfit is grounded in pure white, with a form-fitting bodysuit tailoring that flatters natural body lines. The magenta starburst ornament on the chest serves as the visual centerpiece of the look. To avoid monotony from large swathes of white, gathered fabrics with contrasting textures were spliced onto the shoulders and waist, providing an elegant drape in motion.
For the wig, I selected a light purple twintail style, trimmed the bangs, and accessorized the crown with a futuristic rectangular headband and silver-white accents. The makeup prioritized the eyes, featuring red contact lenses and subtle pinkish-purple blending at the outer corners to closely capture the icy glamour of sci-fi mecha aesthetics. The arm sleeves feature a semi-translucent flared design outlined with black edging; these loose sleeves contrast sharply with the snug bodysuit, visually making the arms appear more slender.
The lower half was paired with pure white pantyhose (White stockings) and chunky platform heeled ankle boots. Under the cool overhead lights of the garage, the White stockings smoothed and accentuated the leg lines beautifully. However, heeled boots are truly not meant for prolonged walking—much of the shoot was spent standing or sitting, putting noticeable strain on the ankles. To best showcase the unique features of this costume, I kept my body elongated as much as possible while posing.
Lighting conditions in a garage are inherently complex, so to guarantee fine textures on my face and outfit, we set up extra fill lights beside the car. Opening the car door created a natural framing element. Sitting by the doorway with legs crossed showcased the leg contours and shoe details nicely, while leaning against the open door took advantage of the car's height and reflective surface to carve out a sharper silhouette. The character graphics on the Itasha formed a surreal synergy with the real-life outfit, creating a fascinating feeling of breaking the fourth wall. What demanded the closest attention was managing the folds of the fabric and controlling facial expressions. Though unlike a professional studio, the garage's industrial vibe and cool lighting actually added an extra layer of futuristic atmosphere. Adjusting poses took considerable time throughout the shoot, all in an effort to ensure every detail could withstand the scrutiny of the camera lens.
