For this Zenless Zone Zero Remielle cosplay photoshoot, I chose a classic all-black Gothic style sweet-and-cool look. The costume features a glossy leather cinched corset paired with a white shirt collar; the semi-sheer black tulle puff sleeves not only add layered depth, but also soften arm movements before the lens. Combined with black garter belts, Black stockings, and glossy high heels, the visual silhouette creates a strong sense of vertical elongation—one of my favorite styling details in this ensemble. The black feathered wings on my back were naturally the centerpiece; though quite large, they did a fantastic job flattering my body contours when transitioning between seated and standing poses.
The elements in this shooting venue were exceptionally rich. The high-backed red velvet throne served as one of the visual focal points; sitting upon it felt luxurious in both tactile texture and appearance. The wrought-iron cage chandelier was a standout prop, filled with scattered sequins and bulbs that provided a warm ambient light source in the dark-toned setting. The chessboard placed on the table, along with dangling iron chains, enriched the storytelling of the frame, evoking a game of dark fairytale intrigue.
For photography gear, we used a SONY A7C2 paired with a Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III VXD G2 lens. The resolving power of this setup was top-tier; under high-contrast backlit shooting, the reflective sheen of the leather outfit and the delicate texture of the Black stockings were rendered impeccably in this Anime-style photography session. In lighting setup, the key light struck from the upper front-side of the model while rim lighting was added on the other side, making the figure stand out three-dimensionally against the dark-toned Gothic lancet window backdrop.
In terms of hair and makeup, the short pink hair paired with a side red ribbon bow, elf ears, and a small cross mark on the forehead made the look instantly recognizable. Posing required continuous adjustments, as facial expressions can easily look stiff in scenes with intense transitions between highlights and shadows. To convey that haughty, effortless sense of dominating composure, I mostly relaxed my neck and shoulders, slightly squinted my eyes, and used my gaze and hand gestures to guide the emotional tone of the frame.
From profound gazes seated on the throne and delicate touches interacting with the chessboard, to standing tall to display the full dynamic tension of the wings, the shoot spanned an entire afternoon. Reviewing the final photos, the clash of black, white, and red against the heavy Gothic architectural backdrop produced an immensely satisfying visual texture. From costume nuances to the overall dark ambiance, every effort was made to recreate the character's mysterious yet opulent aura, and the completion of this photo set fully met my expectations.
