[Nangong Yu cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Angels of Delusion mirror selfie

Today I'm sharing this cosplay styling of Nangong Yu from Zenless Zone Zero Angels of Delusion. I usually take quite a few mirror selfies, so this time I simply set up a simple white backdrop cloth and recorded it with my phone. When I first got my hands on this outfit, I felt it had an exceptional amount of detail. The upper body features a white off-the-shoulder design with an orange grid pattern on the chest, paired with black plush sleeves. The material of the sleeves is quite thick; during shooting, I had to constantly make sure the plush didn't stick to the makeup and that the light blue bows didn't get crooked while moving.
For the hair, the black-based wig with pink highlights took a long time to trim, and the fluffiness of the twin tails required hairspray to hold. The animal ears on both sides paired with the hair accessories made the overall head silhouette look fuller. To match the overall orange and light blue tones, I specially got orange-pink manicures, which details-wise echoed the color scheme on the leg ring and clothing.
The lower body is a white pleated skirt with black and pink decorations along the hem. I wore a pair of black glossy over-the-knee stockings; this material has a strong reflection, and if the lighting isn't right, it easily makes the leg lines look unsmooth. Therefore, I tried different light sources during the shoot, and side-front lighting made the texture of the glossy stockings look much better. An orange leg ring was worn on the right leg with letters printed on it, which is a very memorable detail. The shoes are white platform sandals with black buckles and light blue bows, and the open-toe design happens to showcase the orange manicure, completing the overall pairing nicely.
Since it's a mirror selfie, the camera angle and body posture needed repeated adjustments. For the standing shot, hand movements were actually quite restricted because one hand had to hold the phone while the other had to look natural, and it took several tries to get it right. The two sitting shots were slightly better; sitting on a white cylindrical prop, crossing the legs can visually lengthen the leg lines. With the black over-the-knee stockings paired with platform shoes, slightly adjusting the tilt angle of the phone during the mirror selfie can capture a proportion that makes you look taller. Making a V-sign or placing a hand on the shoulder were all attempts to make the frame less monotonous within this limited space.
The setup for this shoot leans towards an everyday casual feel with no complex set design, focusing the emphasis on the display of the costume and actions. The white ribbons behind have English letters printed on them, which can be revealed when turning around or sideways to add a bit of dynamism. This mirror selfie recording method allows a clearer presentation of the clothing's details. Although the photos were processed into collages, the fabric texture of the clothes, the gloss of the stockings, and the pairing of various accessories can all be seen quite clearly. This outfit has a very strong sense of layering, so movements shouldn't be too large; holding back a bit actually better embodies the character's cool yet cute temperament. Overall, this mirror selfie attempt, with the coordination of lighting and angles, basically restored the texture of the clothing and can be considered a very satisfying record.
