Completing this Honor of Kings Yang Yuhuan cosplay shoot with White studio photography in Shenzhen, I'm very satisfied with how the overall lighting and shadow turned out, so I'd love to share the behind-the-scenes details of this set with everyone.

First, let's talk about the outfit and props. Yang Yuhuan's costume features abundant layers: the outer lake-blue and pink gradient fabric has a wonderful texture, but the true focal points are undoubtedly those semi-translucent ribbons. To make the streamers flutter with natural, airy lightness on camera, we not only brought a high-powered fan to the studio, but I also had to continuously adjust my standing posture and movements, striving to keep the fabric floating gracefully without obstructing my silhouette. The golden crown atop my head carried noticeable weight, featuring complex detailing inlaid with blue and red gems; to ensure the crown wouldn't tilt during shooting, numerous bobby pins were used to secure it firmly. The prop pipa was also exquisitely crafted—the carved headstock and the gemstone accents across the soundboard all required finding the perfect reflective angles before the lens to bring out that metallic luster.

For makeup, to embody the character's persona, I wore blue colored contact lenses, deepened the reddish-pink eyeshadow gradient, and spent considerable time fine-tuning the floral forehead mark (huadian) and rosy lip tint. Because lighting in White studio photography can be very flat, if the makeup lacks dimension, the camera can easily wash out one's complexion; therefore, the makeup artist poured tremendous effort into sculpting contour shadows and highlights.

Throughout the shoot, the photographer constantly guided my posture adjustments. In the first shot sitting on the cylindrical pedestal prop, while looking relaxed and graceful, I actually had to continuously engage my core and muscles to keep my back straight and extend my leg lines, all while stabilizing the pipa in my hands. For the second bust close-up, communicating emotion through my gaze and the gesture of plucking the strings took a long time to synchronize, striving to convey that aloof, slightly melancholic trance. The beauty of White studio photography is total lighting control: the photographer cast warm yellow rim light across the background, paired with gentle frontal fill light, allowing the streamer edges to glisten subtly and cleanly separating the subject from the backdrop. Scouting a professional cyclorama space for Anime-style photography and Shenzhen cosplay photography in Shenzhen offers not only a clean environment, but also high collaborative efficiency that helps everyone dive right into character.

Overall, this shoot was a seamless collaboration across costume accuracy, makeup nuances, and lighting ambiance. Whether shooting on location or in a studio, the most important aspect is communicating the desired visual tone in pre-production, then tailoring poses to the garment's traits on site. Fortunately, the character's essence paired flawlessly with the clean backdrop of White studio photography. I hope these little behind-the-scenes insights offer helpful inspiration to fellow fans who adore this outfit.
