Post-processing for the Shimoe Koharu cosplay in her Pure White Oath look just wrapped up, and I couldn't wait to share the behind-the-scenes details of this shoot. Before finalizing the look for this Cosplay bride outfit, we communicated extensively about the fabric texture and visual presentation. To match the sacred yet light visual feel of Pure White Oath, the upper portion of the garment used abundant semi-sheer tulle paired with a soft bow on the chest, creating rich layers without feeling bulky. The black choker around the collar adorned with a cross ornament served as the finishing touch of the whole outfit, breaking the monotony of large white areas in terms of brightness.

The dark wing-shaped hair accessories on the head along with the dusty pastel-pink wig were crucial to capturing the character's traits. When styling the wig, to prevent hair strands from blocking my eyes, I specifically adjusted the thickness and curve of the bangs, hoping to express the character's clear yet slightly playful demeanor. The sleeve cuffs are especially unique: layers of puffy white tulle that sway naturally with momentum during movement. For the lower body, the focus this time was on the stockings; a pair of pure white over-the-knee stockings not only enhanced the purity of the look, fitting the White tights cosplay aesthetic, but also visually elongated the leg lines. Paired with white pointed high heels on the floor—even though they weren't fully worn in most final framing shots—as an essential prop for a Cosplay bride, they still added a ceremonial sense of completeness to the scene.

To best showcase the layering of the outfit, especially the stockings and leg lines, we tested numerous poses and compositions. Choosing the crossed-leg sitting pose in the first photo utilized a raised platform, leaning my body center slightly backward to naturally present the legs in the center of the frame. Lifting my left hand lightly to touch my hair while resting my right hand naturally beside me helped create a relaxed and elegant atmosphere in front of the lens. The second crossed-leg tucked sitting pose catered to another mood, resting both hands on my lap to present a well-behaved and reserved side. Switching between and capturing these two poses perfectly encompassed different facets of the character's personality.

The studio set arrangement was also thoughtfully prepared. The large pink backdrop wall established the tone for the entire scene, with soft light hitting the wall to evoke a tender, cozy ambiance. The white Roman column behind and the plaster bust in the lower right added a classical artistic flair, creating a delightful harmony with the bride theme. On the left, a bright blue vase with pinkish-purple roses served as a high-saturation cool-toned visual focal point, effectively balancing out the sweetness of the pink-and-white dominant palette. The small white bouquet in my hands and the tabletop corsage further refined the Pure White Oath setting in the details.

Regarding lighting, the photographer used high-key diffused lighting, making the overall image bright without harsh shadows. This lighting method tests both the texture of the garments and the cleanliness of the makeup, as things can easily look flat otherwise. To adapt to this light, my makeup remained clear and sheer on the day, with extra attention given to the eye expressions, while the lips were kept in a natural nude-pink tone to better suit the light bridal styling. Throughout the shoot, I constantly had to adjust the light tulle hemline to keep it spread out beautifully in frame. At the same time, micro-expressions had to be carefully controlled; in an ultra-bright white setting, any stiffness in expression looks unnatural immediately. Fortunately, the photographer gave timely guidance and always pressed the shutter right at my best moments.

Through this set of photos, I hope to convey the quiet tenderness of Shimoe Koharu wearing this Pure White Oath gown. Every Blue Archive cosplay photoshoot is an immersive journey—from makeup tests and prop crafting to the final studio shoot, it requires immense dedication to understand the character's inner essence. The hardest part of a white Cosplay bride theme is avoiding emptiness and monotony, so we did thorough homework on color coordination, prop selection, and contrast creation.
