The playful greeting 'Happy Birthday, Plump-Eared Master' fit this shoot perfectly; during preparation, I had rehearsed the studio compositions in my mind countless times. Setting the session in a pure white studio challenged both the lighting setup and our on-camera coordination, as heavy bounce on an all-white backdrop risks washed-out overexposure or flat tonal depth. Fortunately, we calibrated reflector angles to cast soft, diffused light across the face, preserving the character's luminous clarity. The concept stayed faithful to Thumpy from Arknights, prioritizing organic ease over complex posing. The outfit featured a classic sailor uniform—a navy collar paired with a gray pleated skirt for an authentic scholastic feel, complemented by white tights that visually elongated the legs with clean minimalism. To accentuate this lighthearted youthful presence, plenty of pink and purple props were introduced. The oversized plush carrot offered tactile realism and solid weight, subtly veiling the lower face while seated to create an intriguing, gentle mood. The first shot captured a single-leg balance, raising a pink gift box overhead as if bunny plushies were tumbling out mid-air—demanding balance, yet cleanly frozen by the photographer's sharp shutter timing. Subsequent frames developed seated stances, hugging the carrot or turning to reach for a teacup and plush peach. Channeling the melancholic note 'until the earth turns into a sour lime,' I reined in overly sweet smiles in favor of direct, grounded eye contact. Scattered pink plushies, clear canisters filled with toys, gift boxes, and a black school bag formed a soft contrast against the white cyclorama. Balancing the teacup angles ensured face visibility while conveying afternoon tea leisure, yielding a vibrant, tender visual set.
