[Princess Lusha Cosplay] Shiyakata 2 Classical Luxury Style Cosplay Photoshoot

Preparing for this Shiyakata 2 Princess Lusha cosplay photoshoot took a great deal of effort. Different from many modern or traditional Chinese style sets I have shot, this look blends a strong sense of classical luxury style with a touch of mystery.

Regarding costume selection, it starts with the white top featuring gold trimmings and a cropped waist design; its cut fits close to the body, adorned with crisscross neck straps. To highlight texture, stiffer material was used for the gold piping, maintaining a structured, 3D silhouette under lighting rather than clinging flatly. Adjusting shoulder straps and metal buckles was also critical during fitting to ensure crisscrossing chest straps draped naturally without cluttering the visual frame.

The headpiece served as the soul of the entire ensemble. The silver crown carried noticeable weight, requiring secure fastening during wear to prevent tilting from larger movements. Long ribbons on both sides featured black fabric accented with gold buckle motifs, dropping precisely to waist level; paired with my silver-white long hair, it elongated the upper body's visual proportion. For makeup, eye proportions were emphasized to complement red contact lenses, giving my gaze a more penetrating feel in close-up shots.

The bottom outfit was paired with a white translucent long skirt made of lightweight fabric that draped gracefully whether walking or seated. Most distinctive were the legs, wrapped up the calves in gold straps reminiscent of Roman sandals, paired with light purple flat shoes adorned with bow elements. This asymmetric strap design elongated leg lines and provided delightful visual accents in close-ups.

The shooting set was arranged with immense atmosphere. The sofa featured deep red velvet fabric with intricate gilded carvings along armrests and backrests, radiating rich European court ambiance. Dark bookshelves in the background were filled with colorful books, while retro desk lamps and antique clocks added tranquility. The carpet on the floor featured intricate red and gold patterns, forming an exquisite color harmony and contrast with the subject's overall white-and-gold palette.

For lighting, a faint purple-red ambient light was cast onto background bookshelves to deepen dark areas, while soft lights illuminated the front of the subject to preserve facial dimensionality, preventing flat visuals caused by overpowering background light. The photographer specifically captured a medium shot for the second full-body photo, clearly showcasing the integration between styling and environment, including the airy white chiffon skirt and golden strap details.

The first close-up photo leaned toward conveying an immersive character moment. Holding the red-and-gold fruit prop required a relaxed grip to avoid stiffness. Combined with a slightly tilted seated posture, pointing toes slightly smoothed out leg lines, while tightening my core allowed body curves to connect naturally. Though the costume fabric was light, numerous metal accessories required meticulous adjustments—such as armband positioning and waist chain drapes—to avoid a messy appearance.

This shoot was a truly thrilling endeavor; from the challenges posed by complex costumes and accessories to creating atmospheric sets, it deepened my understanding of the character. Anime cosplay is all about capturing a character's core trait and expressing it through outfit, pose, and setting.
