[Soryu Asuka cosplay] Red and White Stripes & Rooftop Light and Shadow: EVA Cosplay Photoshoot

This time, I cosplayed Soryu Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion, choosing a casual outfit with Red and white stripes to express the everyday side of the character. For this Cosplay photoshoot, the location was set as a Rooftop exterior; shooting in the afternoon backlight helped sculpt the silhouette around the edges of the hair, while natural light prevented facial shadows from becoming too harsh. Makeup centered mainly on deep blue contact lenses, blush, and contouring to accentuate the expression in the eyes. The wig was trimmed and the bangs thinned out to ensure a clear line of sight. Recreating the red hair clips was key, so I specifically chose a pair of the right size. The third photo captures a pose leaning forward and reaching out—this downward perspective elongates the body lines while matching the character's temperament. Because this outfit is quite form-fitting, post-processing mainly adjusted the overall skin tone and image palette. The choice of shooting angles and poses was guided by character lore to make the posing feel natural. I had actually brainstormed many poses before the shoot, and the finalized ones were moments I found truly engaging. In terms of shooting experience, the rooftop railings served as great supporting props. Walking around outdoors in this outfit was very comfortable without worrying about getting dirty. It was a bit windy on-site, requiring multiple adjustments to the bangs, but the result turned out quite ideal. The overall atmosphere was very casual, staying true to the initial concept of the casual wear setting. During the shoot, we paid close attention to the direction of light to ensure sufficient brightness on the face. When retouching, I strived to retain natural texture without excessive artificial embellishments. Overall, it felt like the expected level of character accuracy was successfully achieved.
