This time, I'm shooting Cyrene from Honkai: Star Rail, a look I've wanted to try for a very long time. From the initial makeup test to the release of the final photos, it actually took quite a while. This time, I fully shot two scenes, hoping to reproduce the character's slightly ethereal yet gentle feeling as much as possible for this anime cosplay.

The part that took the most thought in terms of styling was actually the head accessories. That glowing halo with a wheat-ear texture and fine metal rings, along with the white main decoration on top, made the entire silhouette look extremely flowing. The hairstyle used a massive pink-and-white gradient wig. During the studio session, paired with the wind machine's effect, the hair and long skirt flew up simultaneously, offering great visual tension. The main body of the costume is a white lace skirt, and the blue hollowed-out rune details on the chest needed repeated adjustments to sit flat. The shoulder cutout design ensures the overall image doesn't look dull, and combined with the blue-and-white floral decorations and the straps at the cuffs, the layering is incredibly rich. The skirt hem is the highlight of this design: the outer layer is a subtly shimmering white satin, while the inner lining features a deep purple starry sky fabric. Under the overhead light, it presents a very fine, sparkling effect. Paired with irregular pleats and lace at the bottom edge, the whole thing resembles a blooming flower when moving or lifting the skirt hem.

The two scenes captured in this shoot present very different atmospheres. The first five pictures feature a high-key studio session against a gradient background from pink to purplish-red, with clean and sharp lighting. Special thanks to the photographer for their cooperation; because the skirt hem is very wide, to showcase the fluid motion of the wind, we had to repeatedly simulate standing on one leg or flaring the skirt outwards. Particularly for the control of the hair dryer's wind direction, it had to make the strands and the skirt flutter naturally without blowing the overall styling into a chaotic mess—this balance of dynamic and static elements took quite a long time to master during the cosplay photography.

The other set features a blue-green-toned deep-sea shell set, sitting on a massive white shell chair, surrounded by translucent blue flowers, crystal pillars, and moving prop fish. The light and shadow in this scene were highly complex. To highlight the atmosphere, the lighting leaned toward cool tones, utilizing small light sources to illuminate the props, giving the frame a crystal-clear underwater world texture. The emotional expression in this set is more tranquil, forming a beautiful contrast with the lively and agile pink studio shoot.

Throughout the entire replication process, I felt the most core aspect was grasping the character's specific trait—that particular aesthetic beauty within the dimension of space and time. Thus, in terms of body language, I deliberately tried to express a feeling poised right between reality and illusion, capturing both the lightness of a young girl and the settled sense of having experienced the passing of time. While replicating the costume and props is undoubtedly important, what truly breathes life into the frame is the state transmitted through the lens during this roleplay.

Being able to smoothly produce this cosplay photoshoot is inseparable from my teammates' repeated adjustments of costume details and the setup of the ambient lighting. Although the process was grueling, and looking at the final photos I occasionally feel that tiny imperfections might actually look closer to authenticity, capturing this entire look in a frozen frame remains highly meaningful.
