These past three days at REDLAND were truly exhausting, as I wore three sets of costumes from Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero. Waking up early every morning to do makeup and change clothes made me feel completely hollowed out, but the moment I saw the convention photos, I felt it was completely worth it. To ensure character accuracy, I paid meticulous attention to the costume details this time, and trimming and styling the wig also took a long time. For example, in this Honkai: Star Rail outfit, the white pleated wide sleeves and the black cross-straps on the chest are key points; to achieve that three-dimensional skirt hem effect, several layers of lining were added into the fabric. The flower props at the waist and the translucent white wings on the back were all handcrafted piece by piece starting from pattern making. For the makeup, light-colored contact lenses were paired with pink-toned eyeshadow, and crushed diamonds were pasted around the eyes and forehead for embellishment. To prevent makeup from melting at the convention site, loose powder and setting spray were applied in several layers, and hairspray was sprayed on the wig in advance to ensure it wouldn't get messed up by the wind. Yesterday, I also cosplayed Phoenix from Zenless Zone Zero, with blonde hair paired with a bandage makeup look; the red heart-shaped decoration on the chest and the black leather straps were particularly recognizable, and the dark red petal props on the back took quite a bit of time to make. Vodyanitsa from Genshin Impact featured green long hair and a blue-and-white dress, with many pearls and lace elements on the body, which were fixed using many hidden snaps and safety pins to prevent them from falling off while moving around. Today, I originally planned to take it easy and just stroll around, because after three consecutive days of cosplaying, my physical strength couldn't keep up anymore. But suddenly, amidst the crowd, I saw a very familiar figure—Da Wei-ge! My mind went completely blank at that moment, and I was so excited I almost dropped my fan. After snapping back to reality, I hurried over to ask if we could take a photo together. Da Wei-ge himself was extremely approachable, with no airs at all, and readily agreed. While taking the photo, I was still holding the props in my hand and flashing a peace sign, and I was so excited my mouth was curving upwards wildly, completely forgetting to adjust the angle. As a veteran ACG fan, being able to get this close to the boss at an anime convention was truly a huge surprise. The atmosphere at the convention over these past few days has been exceptionally good; the photographers in the photo zone and fellow fans are all very friendly, and everyone praises each other when they see characters they like. Although I had to lug around bags and bags of props and costumes every day to make it to different events, and my feet could barely walk, as long as I stood in front of the lens and showcased my best state, I felt everything was worth it. This anime convention has drawn a perfect conclusion; I'm going to sleep well for two days to recover when I get back, and then start preparing the blueprints for the next outfit.
