[Firefly cosplay] Sharing Honkai: Star Rail Convention Photos from May Day CGF Anime Convention

The Convention photos from the May Day CGF anime convention have been sorted out! This time, I brought this Firefly look from Honkai: Star Rail to the exhibition venue.

This outfit has a rich sense of layering. The upper body features a brown cropped cape with gold trim over white ruffled cuffs, with a striking yellow bowtie and a blue-and-white collar design at the chest that really stands out. The overall color palette has lower saturation, conveying a cool, translucent feeling that fits the character's intrinsic traits very well. For headwear and hair, I chose a gradient blue-and-white wig paired with a dark brown headband across the forehead and a blue bow on the side, giving the hairstyle rich dimension as I moved around. In terms of makeup, paired with light-colored contact lenses and an orange-pink lip tone, my features appeared soft yet three-dimensional.

The lower body ensemble is one of the key highlights of this cosplay work. The deep grey-blue gradient tights feature white wing-like textures, which are visually unique. Paired with white chunky-heeled boots, the black-and-yellow bow on the shoe shaft subtly echoes the main elements of the costume. The skirt is a pleated design fading from ice blue to white; its material is lightweight, giving it a delightful fluttering feel when running around.

The shooting location was inside the hall of the CGF anime convention, where high ceilings and glass curtain walls provided excellent natural light. The highly reflective marble floor acted like a mirror, integrating the reflections of the character and surrounding architecture into the frame, boosting the photo's depth and spatial dimension. Photographer @DaodiNageYuandu was extremely efficient with snapshots—we tried various pose combinations, ranging from dynamic front shots with open arms to static standing poses with clasped hands. Especially when shooting from a high angle, the photographer mastered the perspective effect brilliantly, fully showcasing the leg lines.

The convention hall was crowded with heavy foot traffic, and moving around in this outfit certainly required some energy, but meeting so many friends who love this character and engaging in Roleplay interactions felt wonderfully rewarding. The fabric choice for this costume is also quite refined—it doesn't look bulky, but rather delivers a light, airy visual blend of sci-fi tech and magical aesthetic. During the shoot, I tried my best to relax my body and avoid forcing unnatural poses, striving to reveal a natural and vivid side. These Convention photos serve not only as an archive of the event, but also as a precious record of those few days of character immersion. Leaving behind such a set of photos at CGF makes me deeply grateful for the photographer's dedication.
