This Robin SP poolside look has finally been retouched and is ready to share with everyone. The location chosen this time was an outdoor swimming pool, and to complement the waterscape and summery atmosphere, extensive adjustments were made to both the styling and wardrobe.
Let's start by addressing the most talked-about behind-the-scenes shot. That large patch of swollen red marks on my arm in the second photo was truly a painful lesson. To secure the fabric across the chest and the waist accessories, a substantial amount of double-sided tape was used inside the garments. The shoot day was sweltering, and even beside the water under direct sunlight, the perceived temperature was quite high. After finishing the first set of poses, my skin began itching, and peeling off the tape took off a layer of skin with it—stinging and itching so badly it nearly took me out. Here is my heartfelt advice to fellow cosplayers: when doing summer outdoor shoots, especially when relying on double-sided fashion tape to anchor form-fitting clothes, always prepare anti-allergy measures in advance or keep soothing supplies like aloe vera gel on hand, and never tear it off forcefully.
Setting aside that mishap, the quality of the finished photos genuinely satisfied me. To channel the distinctive flair of Robin SP, the halo headpiece and wing props required continuous angle adjustments under the sun to catch the most flattering glints. The prop scepter in hand was actually quite heavy, requiring engaged core strength to keep my arm lines looking fluid rather than stiff. The pool deck was slick and walking in lace-up strappy sandals demanded extreme caution, but fortunately the photographer's guidance was spot on, capturing numerous organic moments. These behind-the-scenes glimpses reveal the dimensional layers of the setting: the white arches and blue-tiled pool in the background formed a lovely color harmony that matched Robin SP's blue-and-white palette seamlessly. The clear float ring drifting on the water added a relaxed summer vibe. To capture the gentle shimmer across the water's surface, we waited until the afternoon when the sky turned slightly overcast, turning cloud cover into a natural softbox.
As for posing and body lines, this outfit is indeed on the breezier side. To embrace the summery essence of the character design, I kept my poses relaxed to showcase natural contours. The tension of the leg straps underwent multiple adjustments to balance aesthetic appeal without pinching into the skin. Managing the silver-to-blue gradient wig beside water also took significant patience to prevent frizzing. Throughout the session, I continuously coordinated camera angles with the photographer, striving to flatter both the leg lines and the flowing drape of the skirt.
What everyone sees might just be a set of pretty photographs, but behind them lies a relentless cycle of adjusting hems, fixing flyaway hair, and wrestling with stubborn fashion tape. Thankfully, the final texture and visual quality turned out fantastic, making all that groundwork feel worthwhile. Consider this photo set my personal keepsake for the summer. Next, I'll take my time retouching and sorting through the remaining photos, hoping this Robin SP pool look brings everyone a refreshing splash of cool breeze.
