I've just wrapped up the shoot, removed my makeup, and as I sit in the car on my way back, looking through this set of photos on my camera, the red leaves and the play of light in the autumn woods are truly full of atmosphere. Huge thanks to photographer @Mirrow for working so hard today, scouting the perfect locations and finding the best camera angles to capture my red and white outfit in its most ideal state. As for the other photos, especially the frontal close-ups and static poses, they are still with the photographer for editing, and I am highly looking forward to the final results!

The theme of this shoot actually needs no explanation; it's the classic red and white shrine maiden attire of Touhou Project. As you can see, I carefully refined the details for accuracy on this costume, from the ruffled collar to the red corset at the waist and the large bow decoration on the back. Particularly with this skirt, in order to spin it into a more beautiful umbrella-like effect, we specifically added several layers of soft petticoats underneath, balancing a lightweight feel with the need to hold a perfect silhouette during spins.

Combined with the wig I carefully adjusted—featuring flat bangs with hime-cut sidelocks and red hair ribbon decorations—it fits the autumn photography atmosphere exceptionally well. Because the light on the shooting day was absolutely divine, with the sun filtering through the dense red maple leaves overhead to form enchanting backlighting and lens flares, I specifically made sure to do several back-turning poses for the photographer.

Just as you see in this single-character photo, I leaned back while spinning, using my arms to raise the long sleeves and streamers, which, coordinated with the skirt hem opening up in a split second, fully released the tension of the photo. Speaking of snapshots, spinning like this really tests your physical coordination; stepping on the ground covered in fallen leaves is very slippery, and if you are not careful, you'll spin off-course or lose your footing and tumble. For that one fleeting movement, we probably spun back and forth dozens of times. In the selected shot, the skirt hem rose to its absolute highest point, and with the sun sitting right behind me, it gilded my hair and the edges of the skirt with a beautiful golden rim, instantly maximizing the texture of this Anime cosplay.

We kept the makeup relatively clean and clear, avoiding anything too exaggerated while focusing on defining the eye contours to make my gaze look deeper when looking back. Choosing the red maple woods was a stroke of genius; this high-saturation natural background perfectly highlights the color contrast of my outfit. Even without heavy post-production color grading, the raw warm and cool tones are already highly harmonious. As a hobbyist who loves restoring characters in outdoor settings, I always enjoy this feeling of being completely immersed in a natural environment during such shoots.

There were actually quite a few small episodes during the shoot. For instance, my hair accessories would constantly get snagged on dry twigs when walking through the branches, forcing me to pause frequently to untangle them. Also, when the wind blew, falling maple leaves would land on my wig. Although clearing them took a bit of time, looking at the photos now, these little imperfections actually add a touch of authentic storytelling. The fabric of the clothing was chosen with mobility in mind, utilizing a breathable yet slightly thick composite fabric; although the autumn wind in the woods was a bit chilly, spinning around provided enough activity to keep me warm.

I am highly satisfied with this set of photos, which perfectly captures a scene full of spirituality and autumn vibes from the Touhou world. With every cosplay, I do my best to figure out the character's expressions when facing nature. Although these are static photos, I hope the feeling delivered by the images is dynamic and alive. Thanks again to all the teachers and fellow fans on-site for helping make today a memory-filled experience.
