[Robin Cosplay] Divine Radiance in Honkai: Star Rail

I've been preparing this Robin outfit for quite a while. This time, it's version 2.0 of the makeup and styling, with tweaks made to props and set design, incorporating elements like white doves and Roman pillars. I've always felt that the combination of feathers and a halo holds a deep sense of divinity, so I hoped to capture a set of photos closer to the character's true aura. In the end, I'm very satisfied with how the photos turned out.

Let's start with hair and makeup. For this shoot, I chose a light violet hair color, styling the crown for extra height paired with a golden floating halo. The halo has a distinct thickness and hovers right above the head, reflecting subtle sheens under the lighting. For eye makeup, I used earth tones as a base paired with grey-green contacts, using false eyelashes to elongate the eyes. To match the overall fairy-like vibe, I chose a pinkish-orange lip color with a touch of pearl shimmer—it brightens the skin tone without looking cakey or heavy.

As for the outfit, this white tulle ballgown is cinched at the waist, with the skirt featuring multi-layered ruffles and gradient light-blue accents. Paired with white thigh-high stockings, it visually elongates the legs and adds height. The puff-sleeve gloves on the arms feature a paneling design with delicate pleats, making the arms look more slender. Silver high heels were custom-decorated with small flowers to echo the floral arrangements in the scene. The small white wings on the back can easily bleed into the background during Cosplay photography, so we paid special attention to lighting—using side lights to bring out the natural texture of the feathers, giving the wings a 3D effect.

Setting up the shooting scene was where the most care was invested. White gauze drapes were used to create a dreamy, cloud-like feeling, surrounded by blue and white fresh flowers—including sweet peas and blue stars—stacked around Roman pillars and a crescent-shaped chair. The pose in Photo 4 leaning against the Roman pillar beautifully showcases the side silhouette of the costume. The addition of white dove props gives the scene a richer narrative feel; in Photo 3, holding the white dove in my hand fills the shot with vitality. A warm-toned candlestick was placed on the left side of the frame, while the main light came from a softbox positioned slightly above the front. To create dreamy light and shadow effects, exposure compensation was deliberately reduced during backlit shots, coating the edges of my hair and wings in a golden rim of light. Using a mirror was a new experiment in Photo 2, taking advantage of reflections to capture a close-up face shot without ruining the overall composition, with the blurred candlestick in the foreground adding spatial depth.

In post-processing, the natural skin texture was preserved, with only light retouching and localized brightening applied. The overall color grading leaned toward warm pink tones with reduced saturation to enhance softness. The blue-purple tones across the image were adjusted for consistency, creating a cleaner look where the wig and skirt colors matched seamlessly.

Overall, this 2.0 version of angel makeup and styling achieved noticeable improvements in lighting depth, prop interaction, and composition framing, successfully capturing a hint of Robin's signature balance between sacred holiness and gentle warmth.
