[Robin cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: Starlight at Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo - Image 1

The New Year's Day Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo officially kicked off my 2026 schedule, and this time I brought Robin from Honkai: Star Rail to the live venue. From early preparations to the final photo release, a tremendous amount of thought went into this. Robin's temperament is very unique—possessing both an airy, ethereal grace and a confident, stage-commanding presence—so during recreation, I strove to stay as close as possible to the canon design across every detail.

Let's start with the wig and headpiece. This ice-blue short wig with a pink-purple gradient was styled with rich dimensional layers; to achieve that lightweight, fluffy volume, styling the hair fibers took about two hours, particularly fine-tuning the gradient at the ends and the crown accessories. The purple feathers and tassel-like silver metallic chains at the crown added an ornate elegance, casting gorgeous reflections under sunlight or booth stage lights.

The eye makeup was something I felt particularly happy with this time. To reflect pure, delicate texture, I chose an interplay of soft green and pale pink tones, focusing heavily on elongating the lashes. The two tiny gemstones placed at the outer corners of my eyes—one green and one blue—served as crowning accents during shooting, resonating with the phrase "shining like the stars" under the lighting.

For the costume, a deep-toned fabric with a haute-couture texture was chosen, dusted with fine glitter across the surface that creates a celestial starry-sky effect under refracted light. The black feathered capelet and neckline design formed a striking contrast with the massive gradient feathered wings on my back. The starburst brooch featuring a blue hemispherical gem on the chest was the true centerpiece of the entire look; beyond its physical heft, its reflective clarity was remarkably translucent. Supporting and securing the wings also took considerable effort—after all, maneuvering through packed convention crowds with large wings is quite a physical workout, but for the final Cosplay photography results, all the hard work was completely worth it.

During shooting, ambient lighting shifted rapidly, but photographer "Britannia Grand Witch" demonstrated exceptional mastery over light and shadow. This photo captured the exact instant the top light poured down, creating a tranquil, glimmering dreamscape. The photographer guided my angles throughout, though getting that ideal shot truly requires the perfect harmony of timing, location, and synergy. The atmosphere at the Guangzhou Anime Convention and Firefly ACG Expo was fantastic; despite the heavy crowds, there were so many fellow fans to connect with. While cosplaying Robin, I met other convention friends and received numerous convention photos.

Ultimately, every cosplay portrayal is a personal reinterpretation of the character. It is never just about piling on garments and props, but conveying demeanor and atmosphere. As a beloved character in Honkai: Star Rail, Robin's vocals and aura are truly one of a kind, and I hope this shoot captured that kindred spirit. Special thanks to photographer Britannia Grand Witch and everyone at the venue—every convention is a precious gathering to cherish.
