Today's navigator look featuring this White skirt uniform, paired with a sci-fi tech-inspired office setting, offers a great opportunity to chat about some details and fun anecdotes from the shoot.
First, regarding this white uniform, choosing the fabrics and tailored cut took considerable thought. Light gold piping along the collar and skirt hem, paired with short sleeves featuring a subtle puff-sleeve feel, allows the outfit to maintain its formal setting without feeling overly rigid. The small white hat overhead was anchored securely, which together with the halo (supported by rigs or post-production compositing) completes the character's iconic visual identity. I chose white short boots with white stockings this time; set against dark wood floors and bookshelves, the color contrast is exceptionally crisp.
Regarding set design, the photographer specifically located an indoor office with excellent Venetian blind lighting. Folders on bookshelves, keyboards on desks, and the massive data screen in the background of Photo 3—complete with info panels and circular charts—effectively build the atmosphere of her department. During shooting, light filtered through the blinds, and in Photo 1 we intentionally captured a soft sun-scattering flare effect, giving the frame a touch of hazy translucency.
Additionally, regarding the 100kg running joke mentioned in lore discussions, while it's a widely circulated meme, seeing this look in person on set actually gives an entirely different impression of physique and posture. To present the best visual effect on camera, I made subtle adjustments to both standing and sitting poses. For instance, in Photo 2, standing with both hands holding a tablet and adjusting elbow and shoulder angles makes the silhouette appear more upright; or in Photo 3, bending one leg slightly while raising one hand to touch the hair accessory visually elongates proportions, softening the white skirt and leg lines. This synergy between Cosplay outfit styling and posture was designed to restore that earnest, capable working demeanor while preserving a touch of youthful vitality.
For makeup, I emphasized eye clarity and overall skin translucency. The base makeup was kept light, paired with a rosy lip color that enhances vitality, making facial expressions look natural rather than stiff on camera. Purple hair was styled into twintails, with bangs and side strands contoured to flatter face shapes, striving to authentically convey the character's inherent aura.
On shooting day, photographer Sensei excelled at capturing these quiet moments of 2D daily life without demanding dramatic poses. Simple actions like sitting on a chair or standing by the desk communicated her state in a daily office environment far better. I particularly love the slight side profile in Photo 1 where my hand rests naturally on the edge of the tablet; that thoughtful expression truly touches the core of the character. Each of the three photos has its own focus—composed sitting, focused holding, and dynamic standing—offering a comprehensive showcase. Finally, I am extremely satisfied with the cool white lighting tone, which fits the tech-infused setting without distorting natural skin tone rendering. I hope everyone can feel the resonance between this styling and the scene in this Cosplay photography project.
