This Ruan Mei look is "Plum Blossom Blooming in the Snow", which took more than half a month of preparation from the initial makeup test to the actual shoot. On the day of the shoot, we specifically built this real snow set, and the atmosphere of red plum branches and falling snow perfectly matched the character's cool detachment. The ground was covered with snow powder, which, combined with the lighting and a blue backdrop, restored the winter wonderland texture from Honkai: Star Rail cosplay scenes.

The emerald on the neck, the ornaments hanging from the waist, and the heart-shaped cutout details on the gloves were all repeatedly adjusted when putting the costume together, and it felt lighter to wear than I had imagined. To capture the exact moment of falling snow and eye contact, the shutter clicked many times. We tested several sitting postures and ways of holding the scroll; the second photo with the movement of holding a brush and looking back over my shoulder is my absolute favorite, as the composition is relatively full and my gaze carries that unique sense of indifference characteristic of Ruan Mei.

The overall concept for this set of photos was to create an atmosphere where a snowy classical style meets fantasy, and the scrolls, tea sets, and small fruit plates in the set design also enriched the visual layering. The hardest part of shooting a snow scene is controlling the position and density of the falling snow, but fortunately, the indoor lighting and snow powder worked together beautifully that day, making the final output look very clean. This is truly a rewarding highlight in my coser daily life.
