The charm of Makima lies in her absolute top-down sense of control, and viewing these photos in landscape mode makes it easier to directly experience the visual oppression brought by the composition. For this final photoshoot, I mainly wanted to highlight the character's calm and introverted dominance. Therefore, the overall style utilizes a darker ambient light, with a side flash to trace the three-dimensional contours of her facial features while preserving plenty of shadow details in the background. Combined with some artificially created floating particles, it gives the image a cinematic atmosphere.
In terms of a faithful reproduction of costumes, makeup, and props, I chose a custom-made black suit and white shirt paired with a classic narrow tie this time. The most critical part, the long red hair, needed to be treated with hair wax and a straightener to get the fluffiness at the crown and the straight textures at the edges just right to restore the character's signature temperament. Additionally, after putting on the tactical leather gloves, one's aura truly shifts with each movement, especially when raising an arm to gesture or pulling a chain, allowing me to quickly enter the emotional state of the controller.
During the shoot, the hardest thing to grasp was controlling the gaze. This character doesn't require many emotional ups and downs; rather, it's about conveying that unquestionable certainty through a slightly lowered gaze or by staring directly into the camera lens. The third composition is one I'm personally quite satisfied with; the sense of dominance with outspread arms combined with the cutting of light and shadow showcases the stance of the Control Devil very well. If you try turning your phone horizontally while viewing, the overall visual harmony will be even stronger with the reflection of the black leather gloves and metal chains under the light and shadow.
