Putting on this black-and-white maid outfit and wearing Hatsune Miku's iconic teal twintails wig, I instantly entered that virtual world belonging to Vocaloid. This time, I chose a white studio as the shooting environment, abandoning complex backdrops and props, wanting to keep the visual focus entirely on the character itself and the layered details of the costume. The lighting from @Fengyuji Photography Studio was incredibly translucent, making the skin tone look clean and soft, while perfectly presenting the textures of the black skirt hem and white lace edges.
During the studio shoot, the kneeling-on-one-knee pose in the first photo is actually an interaction style I really like. With the index finger lightly touching the chin and the head tilted slightly, this posture can convey the playful agility often found in Miku's anime settings, while perfectly displaying the exposed bow tie and apron lace to the camera. The wig strands were combed very smoothly; although it is waist-long, it provided a wonderful sense of airy movement when tossed during the studio shoot, without feeling heavy at all.
White studio photography actually places quite high demands on a cosplayer's emotional expression. Since there is no large scene to rely on, the audience's eyes will unconsciously focus on your gaze, makeup, and body language. Therefore, in front of the camera, I prefer to soften my posture, using a quiet emotion filled with a hint of anticipation to send signals to the lens. Just like the shots where I am sitting on the cylinder—naturally bringing my knees together or sitting slightly sideways—showcasing a bit of the relaxation unique to Japanese-style girls. This time, the makeup is clean and refreshing without excessive modification, highlighting Miku's own blue eyes and the contrasting sense between cool detachment and sweetness.
The character Hatsune Miku has accompanied me for a long time, and I am incredibly happy to complete such a set of work that combines character accuracy and personal aesthetics in the clean white studio of Fengyuji Studio. Combining the classic elements of a maid outfit with Miku's iconic color palette doesn't feel out of place at all; instead, it sparks a dreamlike everyday vibe unique to the anime world. I hope this set of photos allows everyone to see a Hatsune Miku who can not only stand on stage and sing, but also stand quietly in front of you and say, "It is my pleasure to serve you."
