Picking up this glowing long blade and feeling Hiyuki's sharpness and serenity within the atmosphere of a Japanese-style washitsu room—accuracy itself is an attitude. This Hiyuki cosplay look shot at "Sanmiao Tongxue Photography Studio" involved a lot of thought regarding the details. The white off-the-shoulder top design beautifully accentuates the collarbone lines, and the silver floral ornaments and metal buckles embellishing it add a touch of gorgeousness to her cold demeanor. The red hem and the black sash around the waist form a very stark color contrast when spread across the tatami mats.

The most outstanding prop this time has to be that glowing energy sword. To make sure it didn't look clumsy, I specially adjusted its center of gravity before the shoot. Whether it was standing by the doorframe gripping the hilt like in the picture, or kneeling down with the blade placed horizontally, it required very high control over the lighting angles. The photographer was highly professional; we tried many low camera angles to highlight the light and shadow effects of the weapon while preventing the character from being drowned out by the intense light.

To be honest, walking around in geta (wooden clogs) in that kind of Japanese environment looks beautiful, but the feet feel definitely takes some getting used to. Especially when kneeling on the tatami mat for a close-up with the blade pointing upward, the core must be tightened to maintain body stability. The photo where I'm lying down looks lazy, but actually, to prevent the hair from getting messy, I had to stay completely still for a very long time. The red paper sliding door grids and the deep blue night sky outside created an excellent sense of narrative for this character.

Hiyuki's personality itself has layers—aloof on the outside but seemingly holding onto her own inner persistence. I hope that through this set of photos, beyond just showing off the costume, I can convey her unique Eastern charm. From using cool white tones in lighting to highlight the texture of the hair strands, to the atmosphere rendering in post-processing, everything was kept as close to the character setting as possible. This shoot was also a small exercise for my presence-control skills as a cosplayer, and the final results of this cosplay photography session are highly worth savoring. I hope this set of photos with a touch of narrative flair can make everyone feel the unique charm of a 2D character landing in reality through this Japanese-style photoshoot and Anime-style photography piece.
