[Sirius cosplay] Azur Lane Oath / Wedding Dress Selfies - Image 1

Does viewing this sideways help stretch out everyone's neck stiffness? In truth, this selfie was deliberately rotated before posting. Bringing this wedding dress styling of Sirius from Azur Lane to life took plenty of dedication from initial prep to final shot. Today, I'd like to dive into the hair, makeup, and creative shooting insights behind these bridal selfies.

First, the makeup: To capture Sirius's ethereal, pristine purity, the base makeup was kept immaculate and fair, aiming for a semi-luminous matte texture. The primary focus rested entirely on the eyes: I chose reddish-brown contact lenses, which appear softer than stark pure red while conveying profound depth. For the eye makeup, two layers of false eyelashes—staggering longer and shorter lengths—were applied to boost volume and dimension. Blush was swept generously beneath the eyes, blending seamlessly down from the lower lids to the apples of the cheeks. Paired with a soft rose-tinted lip shade, this created that delicate, fragile porcelain doll allure.

Styling the wig was another massive endeavor. Silky, long white wigs can easily appear artificial on camera, so I teased and padded the crown and sides to frame the face and balance proportions. The bangs and side tendrils were repeatedly pressed with a flat iron to keep the edge lines crisp and sharp. Layering the white lace-and-pearl headdress atop the wig alongside the cross pendant choker pulled the entire look together with refined elegance.

The dress was tailored from lightweight, breathable fabric featuring abundant lace piping and pleated ruffles. A white plush faux-fur stole wrapped around the shoulders, adding soft tactile volume to the upper silhouette during poses.

The set was intentionally minimalist, using a white wall trimmed with European-style plaster moldings, anchored by an exquisite tiered white cake as the primary prop. To establish a high-key, ethereal aesthetic, a large softbox served as the key light to keep skin tones radiant and translucent with minimal hard shadows. The color grading leaned toward minimalist pure white and subtle cool grays, dropping color temperature slightly to give the scene a crystalline, pristine finish.

While taking selfies with one hand holding the phone, wide dynamic movements were limited. I chose subtle gestures—resting a hand gently against my chin or clutching the collar while gazing directly into the camera lens—creating intimate eye contact despite the stillness of the frame. Because the image is oriented horizontally, viewing it sideways prompted my neck-stretching joke at the start. Taking self-portraits in full bridal gear is genuinely tiring, especially when holding a rigid neck pose for long takes. I hope these selfies offer a refreshing visual treat while documenting a styling I truly adore.
