Putting on this NieR:Automata 2B Bunny girl cosplay outfit, my immediate impression was how unique the fabric materials were. The hovering mechanical Pods in the background and the distant enemy models with orange eyes genuinely captured the ambiance of NieR:Automata. During the shoot, the photographer guided me to adjust the katana's grip angle and the placement of my center of gravity to convey 2B's combat readiness. Compared to 2B's traditional regular attire, this bunny girl design emphasizes body contours much more; special attention was required when putting on or taking off the garter straps and semi-sheer black stockings to maintain a snug fit without pinching too tight. Because the venue was at an exhibition with heavy foot traffic, we had to find good angles to dodge crowds. For hair and makeup, I wore a silver-white short wig paired with blue colored contacts specifically adjusted for color and subtle, pale lips, striving to match the original character's signature traits.
Next, let's talk about the synergy between costume accessories and props. The weapon for this set was a long katana featuring white wrapping on the hilt and a well-textured metallic sword guard. When posing on the box, the long katana served as an excellent visual extension, making the figure's lines appear even more slender. The black over-the-knee boots on my feet had a certain platform thickness, and combined with the semi-sheer Black stockings on the upper leg, elongated the leg lines prominently.
The shooting distance this time was also relatively close, cleanly documenting fine garment details—such as the metal buckles on the black corset and the white lace skirt draping from the waist. These lightweight accents created a striking textural contrast against the tough black leather. Although this bunny girl 2B outfit appears rather revealing, it actually has many internal straps and hidden snaps for security, so walking around the venue with larger movements didn't feel unsafe at all. The flying mechanical Pods beside me were also a major highlight, blending seamlessly with the steel and ruins-style environment. The photographer's low-angle upward perspective elongated leg proportions, showing off the most stunning aspects of this outfit. The post-processing approach centered on maintaining cool tones, darkening the background to highlight specular details on my face and costume. Putting on the entire outfit was genuinely complicated, particularly those giant white sleeves: I had to slide my arms into black gloves first before pulling on the outer layers of white lace, building it up layer by layer. The terrain on-site was uneven, requiring careful balance when stepping on the tactical box, though it yielded the best camera angles. In fact, shooting at an event tests your stamina: although this outfit is alluring, it's not very breathable. Squatting and standing up multiple times while balancing the wig and bunny ears was necessary to dial in the right pose. Walking a few laps around the venue against the ruins backdrop drew plenty of attention, and several other photographers took snaps too. While tiring, it was a fantastic experience.
Overall, the lighting at the venue was fantastic, the costume texture came through brilliantly, and it was a very smooth Ruins-style location photoshoot experience.
