[Aharen-san Cosplay] Aharen-san wa Hakarenai: A Cute and Fun Classroom Challenge Under the Shin Takarajima Rhythm

Combining Aharen-san's iconic deadpan cuteness with the viral, magical dance rhythm of "Shin Takarajima," this classroom photography set was shot in front of a blackboard covered in complex mathematical formulas to capture the desired atmosphere. To reflect the character's usual calm yet unexpectedly quirky nature, this iconic dynamic pose with a strong sense of contrast was chosen as the core action.

The makeup and styling lean closely toward the original work's light and youthful feel, avoiding overly heavy eyeshadow. For the wig, a light purplish-gray with gradient layers was chosen, requiring daily grooming to maintain just the right amount of fluffiness. In terms of wardrobe, a white collared shirt forms the foundation, layered with a dark gray knit cardigan, paired with a black pleated miniskirt and classic black tights, plus a pair of black round-toe leather shoes. This classic Japanese school uniform outfit quickly immerses anyone into the character with her subtle sense of distance.

The shooting location was set inside a real classroom, where the green blackboard behind me served as an excellent backdrop. It was filled with various permutations, combinations, and mathematical formulas, even including the mass-energy equivalence equation (E=mc2). Hanging on the upper left corner of the blackboard, a yellow semi-circular protractor provided a highly eye-catching color contrast in the frame. The inclusion of these academic elements perfectly echoes the character's inherent setting.

The biggest challenge of this shoot lay in balancing the tension of bodily movements with facial expressions. As everyone knows, the rhythm of "Shin Takarajima" is incredibly catchy, and the movement framework needs to be expanded wide enough to possess a strong visual impact. The posture in picture 2, with fully extended arms and legs, tries to keep the body lines in a stretched state. Throughout this process, it was necessary to deliberately preserve the character's calm, slightly dazed, and cool facial expression; this deadpan look combined with a goofy pose creates a gap-moe that serves as the fun soul of the photo.

The shoot mainly utilized natural light, combined with the classroom's internal incandescent lighting for fill, making the skin texture look translucent. The dark background of the blackboard also beautifully brought out the layers of the light-colored hair and gray cardigan. This kind of dynamic candid shooting heavily tests the photographer's capturing ability. We fine-tuned the color tones based on the raw photos to make the green blackboard and skin tones more harmonious.
