[Aponia cosplay] CICF Event Photos: The Sister Descends in Honkai Impact 3rd

These are CICF event photos of my Aponia cosplay from Honkai Impact 3rd, shot by photographer Yeguang. Looking through the sorted photos, there's so much to share. Let's first talk about the venue environment: the floor was grey concrete, surrounded by lighting stands, umbrellas, and other cosplay teams' models and photographers walking around, making the background rather chaotic. To avoid distractions, we relied on harsher directional lighting to highlight the subject and darken the surrounding area, a lighting choice that happened to fit the character's sacred yet aloof aura. The costume itself is rich in texture—the upper body features an intricately embroidered white corset paired with a black coat and a cross ornament at the waist, creating a sharp contrast. The lower half features a high-slit black skirt paired with white Stockings, which photographed exceptionally well in this convention-studio environment. The blue-and-purple translucent fabric wings with aurora-like gradients look voluminous and grand once fluttering in motion. During the shoot, the photographer constantly controlled the angles, adjusting the softbox position continuously to prevent the white embroidery from overexposing. For poses, we shot several setups: the first was a kneeling pose reaching out one hand, resting my weight on my legs from a slightly low camera angle, paired with a slightly sorrowful gaze that created a sense of guidance. This pose was quite a test of facial expression control. The second setup was a standing pose with arms spread wide, utilizing the fabric wings to expand across the frame; this required an assistant fluttering the fabric or using a fan to capture a floating, flight-like texture. Candid action shots have a high failure rate, making these satisfying photos exceptionally precious. In terms of lens selection, a telephoto lens was used to compress the background for half-body portraits, while a wide-angle lens captured full-body shots to elongate proportions, avoiding visual monotony. With the noisy and crowded venue, I had to dodge passersby while staying in character, but the final outcome turned out great. The wig was silver-white with soft fibers, which, paired with reddish eye makeup, maxed out the ambiance. The selected shots represent my absolute best state from the shoot, with costumes and props meticulously coordinated. The hardest part of portraying this character was embodying her otherworldly divinity while maintaining calm amidst chaos. Huge thanks to the photographer for patient guidance on-site at CICF, especially for fine-tuning hand gestures and subtle eye details. I'm really happy with this photo set and plan to try more dynamic poses next time to explore different facets of the character.
