[Albion cosplay] Azur Lane White Elf: Anime Convention Photo Log

Sharing today's Convention photo featuring the styling of Albion from Azur Lane. Spotting a booth setup at the Anime convention adorned with a guzheng, wooden lattice screens, and blue-and-white porcelain vases, I immediately felt this pure white attire was a match made in heaven for the scenery, so we launched right into the photoshoot.

The garment is crafted from a delicate patchwork of white lace and semi-sheer tulle; its halter-neck cut and body-conscious tailoring leave little room for error. To look my absolute best on the day of the convention, I strictly controlled my diet days in advance. Because the fragile textile snags easily, slipping into it required immense delicacy—any slightly abrupt movement would bring the terrifying sound of tugged lace. Below, I paired it with lace-trimmed white garter Stockings, anchoring them securely with invisible tape beforehand to prevent slippage while walking. The thigh-high slit beautifully highlighted the leg silhouette, paired with pointed-toe white stiletto heels; although walking across the convention halls all day caused aching soles, the visual elongation was unmatched.

The wig was a long, straight silver-white style with dense volume. With the stifling hall temperatures, wearing it felt rather suffocating. To keep the floating arc of the tresses graceful as the folding fan was raised, I made frequent trips to the restroom to touch up stray edges with a comb and hairspray. The translucent butterfly hairpin was secured with hidden bobby pins that my makeup stylist tucked deeply into the wefts to avert accidents. For cosmetics, since the character features pointed elf ears, I wore custom prosthetics; seamless foundation blending and contouring around the edges prevented seam lines from showing, paired with muted eye makeup to preserve her serene, aloof grace.

Wielding the white folding fan draped with dangling tassels overhead truly tested arm endurance throughout the session. To suit the framing, I continually adjusted wrist tension and angles to achieve harmonious balance between the fan and my face. Twirling the gown's train with my other hand also took multiple trials to naturally capture the weightless drape of the translucent tulle. The studio lighting fell sculpturally from a high three-quarter angle, accentuating the embroidery textures on the lace and the luminous glow of the sheer skirts. The faint wisp of incense smoke curling nearby added poetic depth, while the photographer gently coached me to relax my expressions into an organic state.

With heavy convention foot traffic, finding such a quiet nook to capture these photos was pure luck. Albion carries an aura of quiet detachment, so in portraying her, I avoided exaggerated movements in favor of a poised, floating grace. The costume holds countless nuances—especially the layered sheer fabric along the back train that I studied meticulously to mirror the character art. While quick convention photos cannot showcase every subtle accent, feeling those structural nuances while wearing the outfit is deeply fulfilling. This is precisely the joy of an Anime convention: personally stepping into diverse character stylings and connecting with fellow ACG enthusiasts. Though physically demanding, witnessing the final frames made every bit of effort worthwhile.
