For this edition of the China International Comics Festival, I brought Tomimi's full gear straight to the convention grounds. Preparing for this look took a lot of careful thought. Tomimi's defining features are unmistakable: long silvery-white hair combined with her signature pointed ears. The wig was specially thickened, and anchoring the black headband along with the slender braids on both sides took quite a while to maintain a natural, fluid drape. For makeup, I deepened the outer corners of the eyes with reddish-brown eyeshadow and wore light-colored cosmetic contacts, hoping to capture the character's lively yet slightly mysterious presence.

The outfit also carries plenty of intricate details. Over a black high-neck base layer, I wore a deep teal sleeveless top, while the outermost sheer jacket sleeves feature black-and-white color-blocked patterns. The translucent fabric caught the outdoor convention sunlight with subtle refractions, offering exquisite texture. Hanging the bronze-tinted goggles across my chest, combined with the black backpack harness straps and that dark gray plush tail, immediately layered the overall styling with dimension. The tail needed to be pinned securely from the inside so it wouldn't slip loose while walking around.

For the lower half, tight black shorts are paired with asymmetrical cutout leg sleeves and Stockings accents; this design is not only breathable, but also visually contours and elongates the leg lines. On my feet were black patent leather lace-up ankle boots; the glossy finish complemented the dark, utilitarian techwear aesthetic perfectly. Because the boots have a noticeable heel, I placed soft cushion inserts inside so walking and standing around the convention all day wouldn't be overly tiring.

The outdoor photo area at the convention happened to have several yellow-and-black safety barricades. Seeing them, I felt the graphic color contrast was fantastic, so I tried resting one foot on top to strike a pose. The first full-body shot was a classic upright stance holding the prop staff. The staff features a long black shaft crowned by an oversized loop tied with long white ribbons. Holding it carries subtle weight, and the white ribbons easily tangled outdoors, requiring frequent smoothing between takes. To ensure the ribbons billowed smoothly in the wind, the photographer and I adjusted our positions several times. The third shot was another upright full-body take holding the staff, looking clean and poised. However, my personal favorite remains the side-profile leg-raise shot by the barricades—the framing holds dynamic tension, and both the leg lines and the boot details show up crisply.

Doing cosplay is truly an exercise in endurance, especially walking outdoors in boots all day. The outdoor sun was quite intense, requiring occasional makeup touch-ups. But Tomimi's techwear aesthetic aligns closely with the style I naturally love, making it very comfortable to wear. Between takes, wandering convention photographers stopped by politely asking to snap a few frames, and everyone was incredibly kind. The whole session went smoothly, and the lighting conditions were wonderful. Packing up the staff and backpack and tidying my wig before heading into the exhibition halls, bringing a beloved character to life and connecting with fellow fans made this exhausting yet joyful experience deeply rewarding.
