This shoot brought to life a Custom swimsuit design for Aglaea from Honkai: Star Rail. The concept behind this secondary interpretation took quite a while to flesh out during pre-production. Designed for a Fan creation event project, I opted for an ensemble that preserves the character's intrinsic elegance while channeling an effortless summer ease. The off-the-shoulder white long-sleeve top delicately accentuates the collarbones, while denim shorts visually elongate leg proportions. Paired with a custom golden-blonde wavy wig and reddish eye makeup, I strove to retain the heroine's noble, cool-toned glamour within an original look. Photographer Cat Bell (@猫铃) demonstrated masterful control over light and shadow: the first set took place beside a vintage van under clear skies, where bright natural daylight rendered skin textures luminous and clear. The second scene shifted before an orange British telephone booth, utilizing focused spotlights to sculpt bold contrasts of light and shadow; paired with black high heels and a crossed-leg stance, it accentuated her composed, aloof presence. The third setup moved under indoor neon lighting, using counters and small yellow lamps as foreground elements while splashing purple ambient fill across the background to steep the frame in cinematic storytelling. For props, the bright yellow lemon-slice bag was the crowning touch—its sunny hue not only brightened the composition but unified the overarching palette. For styling, the base makeup incorporated ultra-fine highlights, while the legs were paired with Nude stockings to cultivate a flawless, silky skin texture. As this is a custom swimsuit take, slight character deviations in fan-made concepts are inevitable, so your gracious understanding is appreciated. Overall, the shoot posed rewarding compositional and lighting challenges, especially adjusting bounce reflectors continually to keep the makeup pristine under shifting light. This collection archives distinct moods—vibrant warmth in bright sunlight juxtaposed with cool detachment in moody shadows. Every Fan creation offers a fresh lens on a persona; Aglaea's narrative in Star Rail carries profound depth, and exploring her through this playful direction was wonderfully novel.
