Today, I finally sorted out this finished Cosplay photoshoot of Escoffier from Genshin Impact. The theme for this session was set as 'Escoffier's Cooking Diary,' which is why you can see me holding a spoon prop glowing with a soft pale-blue luminescence throughout the frames. This Escoffier ensemble is brimming with intricate nuances: a white base spliced with black and crimson, trimmed in gilded borders, creating an exceptionally striking visual presentation. To stay faithful to her character design, I dedicated substantial time to adjusting the fit of each garment piece. The golden buttons across the bodice, the red-and-black bow cinching the waist, and the gilded crest motifs along the hemline were all matched with meticulous care. In particular, the white chef's hat—accented with a golden insignia and azure ribbon—instantly bestowed a capable yet playful demeanor the moment I put it on. The purplish-red tail ornament trailing behind completed the silhouette; although it required careful positioning during poses, it made the character look remarkably dimensional and vibrant.
While shooting, I curated several expressive poses. For instance, raising the spoon in one hand as if contemplating a brand-new culinary recipe, or holding the hat aloft with both hands to project relaxed confidence before showing off her skills in the kitchen. There is also a profile frame of me lifting the skirt hem, primarily designed to highlight the lower styling details. I wore white patterned Stockings printed with golden line art and crests, harmonizing flawlessly with the overarching outfit, paired with black-and-gold high heels for visual unity. The spoon prop was custom-crafted; its translucent texture reflected the studio lights beautifully, carrying satisfying physical heft that helped me immerse myself swiftly into character.
Regarding hair and makeup, considerable effort was poured into the finer points. To mirror Escoffier's presence in Genshin Impact, I wore vibrant blue contact lenses and applied soft pink-and-blue eyeshadow blends to grant my gaze lively sparkle. The golden wig was exceptionally long and voluminous, requiring thorough detangling before shooting to avoid flyaways. The blue floral hairpin at the crown served as a delightful finishing touch, boosting her youthful charm. Inside the studio under high-output strobes, we continually adjusted angles to manage fabric and wig glares for the cleanest look. The layered cuts on the shoulders and cuffs also demanded constant attention during dynamic poses to prevent the fabric from bunching up awkwardly.
We staged this session at a studio near Joy City in Jing'an, Shanghai, where Shanghai photoshoot booking allowed us to leverage a clean, seamless solid backdrop that focused all visual attention on the subject and wardrobe. The process was quite demanding, as the numerous accessories took patience to wear and adjust. Yet reviewing the finished frames made every ounce of effort worthwhile. I especially adore the takes lifting the skirt hem, which showcased the craftsmanship beneath the gown and the intricate Stockings. As part of my dimensional traveler journey, exploring diverse character personas is always a joy. Escoffier carries a singular allure—balancing the poised confidence of a master chef with the endearing sweetness of a young girl. While posing, I kept wondering if she also stands in her kitchen just like this, spoon in hand, earnestly perfecting every single recipe. This set spans diverse angles, from bust portraits to full-length compositions, showcasing varied facets of her personality.
Every cosplay endeavor is a fresh journey into embodying a character's mindset and donning ensembles one wouldn't wear in everyday life. For this Escoffier project, from prop fabrication to garment fitting and studio posing, I held every step to the highest standard. These frames document my moments living as Escoffier before the lens, deepening my connection with her character. I hope everyone feels her undeniable charm through these photos, and I look forward to bringing more quality work to life next time.
