Today I'm trying on this Ramiel cosplay outfit from Zenless Zone Zero, and the overall feeling is that it really takes a lot of effort.
First, let's talk about the wig and the elf ears. The pink short hair has a very sharp cut, and the texture is not too frizzy; it shapes the face very well once put on. Although the two small red hairpins on top of my head are small in size, they play a great role in brightening the look and create a nice contrast with the pink hair color. The fixation of the prosthetic elf ears is firmer than I expected, and when worn with the wig, there is no abrupt stiffness; instead, it adds a fantasy vibe.
Next is the design of the upper body. What attracts me most about this top is the combination of the neckline and the sheer sleeves. The dominant black tone paired with the white collar edge, along with the silver decoration dangling from the chest, makes the entire garment look clearly layered. The shoulder cut-out design is well done; it doesn't make the shoulders look too wide, while cleverly showing off the collarbone lines. The sheer part of the sleeves is quite thin and lightweight, avoiding a bloated look, and under the purple light, the sheer material gives off a subtle hazy gloss—the texture is totally on point.
The pleated miniskirt of the lower body is one of the focuses of the entire match. The white star patterns on the hem are extremely eye-catching; they are not simple prints but have a certain thickness treatment, as if they were embedded, which makes them look very three-dimensional. The length of the skirt is just right, and when paired with the black semi-sheer stockings, it visually elongates the leg proportions. The black bows on the stockings are a finishing touch—simple yet detailed, preventing the tights from being monotonous.
The most eye-catching yet most difficult part to pull off in this look is undoubtedly the pair of giant black wings on the back. The wings are even larger than I expected, with distinct layers of feathers and a subtle matte texture on the surface that prevents them from looking cheap. The long black ribbons hanging from the base and lower part of the wings are also a highlight; when walking or turning around, these ribbons sway naturally, creating a fantastic dynamic effect. However, the massive wings also bring considerable weight, requiring constant attention to the balance of the shoulder straps to avoid uneven pressure on the shoulders. Keeping my back straight while taking photos definitely takes some stamina.
To match the overall style, I chose a pair of black platform chunky-heeled high heels with a crisscross strap design on the instep. This kind of high heel with a touch of retro feel fits perfectly with the dark style skirt outfit. Compared to ordinary flat shoes, these shoes make my figure look taller when standing.
For the photoshoot, I chose the stairs at home, as the shape of the steps happens to provide draping space for the complex skirt hem and long ribbons. The purple lighting in the room cast down, unexpectedly matching the color palette of this outfit perfectly, creating a mysterious and glamorous atmosphere overall. During the mirror selfie, trying to hold the phone steadily with one hand while posing to create an elongated feel for my legs indeed required finding the right angle. I tried two different standing postures and ultimately felt that the cross-legged pose best highlighted the leg lines and the overall curves. After all, besides the outfit itself, how to showcase the beauty of the clothing through poses is also a very important part of cosplay.
Overall, this Ramiel cosplay and cosplay fitting experience was very interesting, with many prop details and rich elements. However, the large wings do affect some turning movements. For a mirror selfie, figuring out how to balance these complex accessories and capture a good-looking shot was a very worthwhile practice.
