This highly reflective pink bodysuit coupled with the pink-and-white colored sniper rifle presents a strong visual tension under the convention lighting. This time, my Alice Cosplay from Goddess of Victory features a very eye-catching techwear design. The patent leather fabric reflects light sources and the surrounding environment very honestly in front of the lens. If not handled well, it can easily look cluttered. Therefore, for these convention photos, the background was intentionally darkened, and a light array was used to outline the glossy contours, bringing out the body lines and the highlighted texture of the costume while keeping the skin fair and translucent.
The white of the twintail wig is also highly replicated, and paired with the pink rabbit-ear headphones and thick-soled black-and-white sneakers, the visual focus is concentrated on the combination of pink blocks and white embellishments. Alice's setting is relatively pure and lively, yet she carries a heavy firepower weapon; this sense of contrast is also reflected in the shooting poses. In the photos, I tried different states such as a standing pose carrying the gun on my shoulder, a playful gesture on one leg, and kneeling on one knee on standby, all of which can relatively well showcase the character's personality traits. The "SUPERB" lettering on the gear and the zipper details appear very clear under the high-contrast flash.
In an environment with high foot traffic like an anime convention, wanting to shoot clean convention photos heavily tests the photographer's on-the-spot snapping and light control abilities. Thanks to our tacit cooperation, this return set maintained a high-gloss texture while avoiding the greasy feeling commonly seen with reflective fabrics, overall presenting a refreshing 2D sci-fi battle-suit effect. It has also accumulated valuable practical experience for subsequent makeup detail optimization and prop assembly in our cosplay photography.
