The shooting location for this set of photos was an abandoned factory full of hardcore industrial style. The overall environment was dominated by red steel frames and hanging chains, complemented by yellow and black caution tape. To fit the setting of Goddess of Victory Red Hood, we did a lot of experimentation with lighting. This red and black outfit utilized a large amount of patent leather and glossy materials, which reflected a cold, sharp sheen under the low-key red ambient light. The top adopted a cropped design, paired with a red cape and a black collar, creating a visually aggressive look.
To recreate the character's traits, I wore the signature long red wig and black mechanical-textured horn headpiece. The makeup also accentuated the eye contours and lip color, aiming to enhance the character's aura through intense color contrast. The glossy black gloves offered a very tight fit; although not very breathable, they framed the arm lines nicely in front of the lens. Combined with the black leg straps and thigh rings, they elongated the overall body proportions.
The biggest highlight of this styling is the massive black sci-fi heavy firearm prop in my hands. The gun is remarkably heavy, and holding it to pose required tremendous core strength and arm support. The gun body has white letter markings and red graphic decals, featuring a very delicate metallic finish. To convey the weapon's sense of weight in the photos, the photographer tried multiple camera angles. From a low-angle shot in a squatting pose to a close-up holding the gun sideways, every press of the shutter tested the stability of the movement.
The industrial-style location provided an excellent natural backdrop for these photos without requiring excessive post-processing; the red steel frame and shadows themselves offered great depth of field. The lighting technician used strong white backlighting to outline the character's silhouette while utilizing red light to render the ambient environment, creating intense contrasts between light and dark. In the ground-level shooting segment, we tried a low-angle perspective, capturing leg details and floor reflections, maximizing the sci-fi atmosphere.
The entire shooting process was physically exhausting, especially wearing glossy synthetic fabric in an enclosed space while constantly adjusting the cape's position to ensure its flowing shape in the frame. However, seeing the final photos—where the material's distinctive light-and-shadow effects blended seamlessly with the hardcore industrial vibe—all the fatigue was swept away. It was a deeply fulfilling creative endeavor; from costume preparation and prop finishing to lighting presentation, the team put tremendous effort into every single step.
