[Alice Cosplay] Sweet Styling of a Halloween Bunny-Eared Maid

For this Halloween look, I chose an Alice bunny-eared princess concept, featuring a classic blue, white, and black color palette packed with intricate details. The headpiece is a plush black bunny-ear headband accented at the base with lace and black-and-white striped ribbon bows. The bodice pairs light blue with white patchwork, lavishly embellished with ruffles and lace along the collar and cuffs, complemented by a black ribbon at the chest. The bottom is a multi-layered ruffled miniskirt overlaid with a crisp white apron featuring black crown embroidery at the center.

This outfit is from Malymoon, a brand renowned for its dedication to detail and dimensional layering. To flatter the flare of the skirt, I wore a medium-volume petticoat underneath, keeping it gracefully poofy without looking bulky. For the legs, I selected pure white over-the-knee White stockings accented on the thighs with black ribbon garter rings to visually elongate the silhouette. The footwear consists of black platform Mary Janes with crisscross straps and silver buckles, which not only add height but also provide steady support when walking. The lace-up waist cinches the silhouette cleanly to accentuate waistlines. The black-and-white striped ruffled trim along the skirt hem catches the light with dynamic motion. Pairing over-the-knee White stockings with garter rings kept them firmly in place all day without sliding down. While the platform shoes look substantial, the forefoot cushioning is actually quite comfortable, easily enduring several hours of posing and shooting.

For this photoshoot, I specifically chose a room equipped with spotlights. The beams casting down onto the wall created an eye-catching silhouette effect. I experimented with various poses—lifting the skirt hem, raising one leg, and kneeling on a circular pedestal. When posing, keeping the back straight and wrists relaxed while pinching the skirt hem creates a much more flattering posture. The stark contrast between White stockings and black platform shoes is visually striking; standing slightly on tiptoes or crossing legs elongates leg lines beautifully.

In terms of hairstyle, a dark brown, gently curled long wig was chosen, blending seamlessly with the lace hair accessories. Lace wrist cuffs echoed the neckline, enhancing the overall refinement. For mirror selfies, phone angles are crucial: holding the phone slightly higher makes one appear more petite and adorable while capturing the full skirt and footwear within frame. I shot most of these with my pink phone case; partially shielding the face not only saved the effort of intricate facial expressions, but also steered visual focus onto garment details and mood. Body orientation was equally important—turning slightly three-quarters with one shoulder forward creates a slimmer look. The contrast between the white wall and dark wooden door in the background made the blue, white, and black palette pop vibrantly. Making full use of on-set lighting, especially the shadow projected against the back wall, added wonderful storytelling texture. Wearing this ensemble out for Halloween delivers festive flair without feeling overdone—perfect for memorable holiday snapshots.
